Possibly the same reason Colt added the retarded sear block to their old lowers and many manufacturers built AR-15 semi-only carriers.

Harder to convert to full-auto.

this.  i had to do this to get my RLL to work in my suppressed 300blk.  shout out for quarterbore for all his info on this that got me running, and also to m60joe for modding my 3RB kit so I could get select fire full/seemi operation
