I wonder if something like this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back in terms of the welfare state. We have been in a recession for the past 6 years, our society is falling apart. We simply cannot afford the excesses that socialism provides. Cut the welfare state dry, call it austerity, but either we continue where we are heading, financial insolvency with paper currency, or we make some tough (perhaps easy) choices. The system has been abused every which way possible, it is time to reform it, by killing it. It will take a generation, but the excesses in crime and poverty that the welfare state perpetuates will slowly go away. We just have to rip off the bandaid. I think they misspelled "sperm donor."
Because unless you're paying for them and raising them? Helping them with their homework, fixing their skinned knees, teaching them a work ethic and some morals, disciplining them, etc? You are NOT "a father." |

Ok, I just heard on 1230 AM that the dash cam video is so bad that there is no way that Joe Deters will be able to avoid bringing charges against the officer. It hasnt been released to the public yet, so this is all insider stuff so it may be complete crap, who knows.
Also, one of the houses near the incident has a security camera that happened to be pointed at the area where it all went down. Its reported that the CPD have taken the video from the home owner, who happens to be a CPD officer too. Listen live here. http://thebuzzcincy.newsone.com/ |

So do I have this right:
Officer pulls over guy for no front license plate. Suspect is clearly drunk. Officer asks him to get out of car. Physical struggle occurs over door, officer falls to ground. Suspect drives forward and officer fires. If that's the story. how is that not a clear cut case of defense of self (I thought he was going to back up and run me over) or others (probable cause to believe a fleeing, drunk suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury)? |

"Well, no - we haven't seen any evidence, and we don't actually know any actual...facts... but we'd like to apologize to the family for their tragic loss, and while we're not going to come out and say it - we're going to insinuate that the officer was wrong and the department sucks."
