That looks like a really nice rifle, especially for the price. Maybe something to look into getting.

I like Ruger bolt guns. This one looks good, but it would be nice if they also offered it in a non Buck Rogers style stock. Maybe a McMillen A3 or A4 View Quote It looks like it uses any sort of AR furniture. An "OEM"-esque model with no buttstock, grip, or handguard (and corresponding lower price) would be sweet. |

It's just what I'm looking for. I'm pretty pumped. I would like to see it in .300 wm though.

at that price range might be fun to make a 6.5X284 out of one.. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Interesting. If msrp is $1399 any guess on to what the street price may be? The MSRP on the Guide Gun is $1240 and I see them for $8-900 so sub $1k I'd imagine, if not a bit cheaper. at that price range might be fun to make a 6.5X284 out of one.. 6.5-284 Norma won't fit in a short action magazine unless you handload short(light) bullets which kinda negates the whole long range thing. I'd get a .243 and ream the chamber to 6XC. |

I want to know if it's an AR-15 or AR-308/SR-25 size barrel nut. The geardo in me needs to know for handguard theorycrafting.

ITS REAL. I have fondled one already. Really neat gun. How's the trigger? I was really impressed. Nice and crisp we didnt put a scale on it. I would say it was nicer than the trigger that came on my GSR by alot. |

I'll be getting one in 6.5CM as soon as my preferred shop can get one.

That is a great looking gun. It is good to see American firearms manufacturers staying on the cutting edge of firearms technology like this.
A bullpup version would be SWEEEEEET! I wonder if they will ever do a long action version? |

One of these in .300 win mag or .338 lm and I'm in.
Great price. |

For around $1k street price, if they are good... I'd probably put one on my list. I don't have a good long-range bolt gun. I'd probably prefer to go with 7.62x51 (.308) for ease of finding and reloading ammo.

Not a game changer by any means for Ruger or the industry. I applaud their tenacity and like the Company but, why does it always seem they get in the game late?

It does seem to be a well thought out rifle. http://www.ruger.com/micros/rpr/models.html |

That buttstock looks like that transformer shit.

it takes AR handguards (according to the Ruger sight) allen wrench stored on board to adjust the trigger.... seems to have a lot going for it. I am not sure if it takes .308 AR barrels or not. They mentioned on their site that it has an easily replaceable barrel. overall, it seems neat. View Quote Its a bolt gun, what point is there in taking ar barrels? |

looks promising...i've been in the market for a tactic-cool bolt action rifle for awhile now but can't make up my mind on what to get..I'll give this consideration, hopefully fit/finish will not be as rough as some Rugers I've seen.
