Lately there have been several 1911 threads pop up. In this thread we will discuss why you settled on carrying/shooting a Glock instead of having something better. While Im sure it will be argued that a Glock is decently priced and goes bang when you want it to, lets look at a few other things in life that do what they are suppose to while also being conveniently priced and making life easy. Here are a few analogies You could have had this http://www.ausmotive.com/images/Ferrari-458-Italia-01.jpg Instead you settled with this http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2010/04/22/21/33/1994_toyota_camry_4_dr_xle_v6_sedan-pic-4132254433501968372.jpeg While both get you from point A to point B reliably, one is arguably more fun to drive. While yes it could be argued that one has more upkeep costs and maintenance, atleast you will get laid. You could have had this http://singlesblogforyou.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/the_most_beautiful_women_according_98.jpg Instead you settled with this http://www.dumpaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/wow.jpg While both will get the job done in the sack, isn't one more desirable than the other? Sure there may be more upkeep costs for the better choice, but isn't the end result worth it? Discuss why some gave up on life and settled with Glock. I simply meant that although 1911's can be had in 9mm or 38 super, glocks are offered in everything from 380 to 10mm and they all retain their reliability and ease of use. The advantage of being able to run 9mm in a .40 glock with a drop in barrel is yet another point for glock. I'm going to dinner? Glock 19 Going camping and worried about Bears? Glock 20 Going to a formal event and need to be discrete? Glock 43 Targets? Glock 34 A glock for every use and my training is the same for all of them. You're not going to get equally excellent performance out of a colt mustang, coonan 357, various 1911s in 45 or whatever other obscure clamberings you can find a 1911 in. |
