Sure you can own 30 round mags made before a certain year, but you can't go online and order a 10 pack of 30 round PMAGs and have them delivered to your house.

Yeah. Lighter, more reliable, more corrosion resistant, multiple calibers on the same platform, easier operation, doesn't cost a fortune. All of these things make glock a better CCW choice than a 1911.

I own a Glock. Don't get me wrong its okay.

Kinda like banging the fat chick after a night of drinking, better than nothing, but theres better out there

Lately there have been several 1911 threads pop up. In this thread we will discuss why you settled on carrying/shooting a Glock instead of having something better.

While Im sure it will be argued that a Glock is decently priced and goes bang when you want it to, lets look at a few other things in life that do what they are suppose to while also being conveniently priced and making life easy.

Here are a few analogies

You could have had this

http://www.ausmotive.com/images/Ferrari-458-Italia-01.jpg

Instead you settled with this

http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2010/04/22/21/33/1994_toyota_camry_4_dr_xle_v6_sedan-pic-4132254433501968372.jpeg

While both get you from point A to point B reliably, one is arguably more fun to drive.

While yes it could be argued that one has more upkeep costs and maintenance, atleast you will get laid.

You could have had this

http://singlesblogforyou.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/the_most_beautiful_women_according_98.jpg

Instead you settled with this

http://www.dumpaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/wow.jpg

While both will get the job done in the sack, isn't one more desirable than the other? Sure there may be more upkeep costs for the better choice, but isn't the end result worth it?

Discuss why some gave up on life and settled with Glock.

I simply meant that although 1911's can be had in 9mm or 38 super, glocks are offered in everything from 380 to 10mm and they all retain their reliability and ease of use. The advantage of being able to run 9mm in a .40 glock with a drop in barrel is yet another point for glock.

I'm going to dinner? Glock 19

Going camping and worried about Bears? Glock 20

Going to a formal event and need to be discrete? Glock 43

Targets? Glock 34

A glock for every use and my training is the same for all of them.

You're not going to get equally excellent performance out of a colt mustang, coonan 357, various 1911s in 45 or whatever other obscure clamberings you can find a 1911 in.

I don't know why I never have a problem with mine.
Percentages-Glock has had troubles, like the guns with the bad side rails. There are Toyotas that break and probably Fiats that go 200k miles.

I like 1911s for all the stuff I post here. They are good looking guns, accurate and have nice triggers. If I was limited in what guns I could own or had to take to the hills with zombies snapping at my heals I'd take a Glock

Right there with you. I have just honestly not had many problems out of 1911s. Ive owned quite a few. Can only remember 2 that needed a little time with a file on the extractor.

Honestly, no bullshit, I had more problems out of the Glock 19 I own than I have my 1911 I carry. I tried for about 6 months to convert to Glock. Just didn't work for me

Agree I couldn't stand the Glock's trigger. I was spoiled with my 1911 I ended up selling my G17 and bought a nice used W. German P228 fucking thing is more reliable than my Glock. My G17 hated fucking Fiocchi for whatever reason always FTEs with that shit. Which is too bad because it was always cheap around here which I guess just shows that its crap ammo.

THE Best was sold before my payday came around.

OP,  your entire premise is wrong.

if a 1911 is this

Then this is a Glock 19

According to LAV the 1911 is the M4 of the handgun world while the Glock is the AK of the handgun world. Ak goes in trash can, thus glock goes in trash can.
