lol I'd consider leaving even if things were going great!
It all comes down to money |
|
Hell no! this is my home!
If shit gets that bad, then shit WILL get real up in this mofo! |
|
Wife and I will be expats. Just not the time yet. Hopefully I can stick to my 10 year plan.
|
|
You obviously have not traveled to a lot of foreign countries.
Many are shit holes once you get past the tourist areas. |
|
Nope. Even if there was someplace to go, and I don't think there is, I'd stay. Even if it went to total shit, I'd just as soon stay and fight if I had to. Might not help much, I'm getting old and pretty beat up, but on the other hand, what would I have to lose?

If things ever got that bad, the rest of the world would be much worse.

If you actually think leaving the borders of this nation will get you paradise then all I can say is those thoughts will be fleeting because if we fall apart or turn inside out the rest of the world will be flush with turds in the process. I'd consider it if there really was someplace to go, but where would that be?

I barely even recognize this country anymore, and at this rate it has changed in 8 years, I wonder what it will be like in 20 years from now I wouldn't mind living a simple life in somewhere like Costa Rica and have a nice house along the beach somewhere. This huge mountain home is only $360k http://www.propertiesincostarica.com/properties/Images/breathtaking_panoramic_views_of_the_pacific_coast/opt/close-up-y-cochera.jpg This one is $600k with its own private beach http://www.propertiesincostarica.com/properties/Images/beachfront-exclusive-villa/2/greg-house-11.jpg I would consider leaving if the pendulum doesn't end up swinging back. Progressives are steamrolling over everything with zero resistance |

To where though?
The only way I'd consider it is if things go so far South that I'm in fear for the lives of my family. If that happened, I guess I'd pay a visit to the Kiwi's and make the best of it. or get used to bagged milk |

We're three months into our five year plan to expatriate to Alaska.
|
|
It would have to get reeeeeeeeealy bad before I even thought about it, and we're nowhere near that point.
|

I'm pretty sure we could establish a beachhead in Somalia with a dozen or so Arfcommers.

There's a problem with places in Latin America/Caribbean; you're very welcomed as long as you have MONEY. The moment you don't, (or an extremely valuable skill,) you're very much NOT welcomed. in a SHTF situation, places like CR will NOT want/grant you access and *may* only take whatever you invested in their country. Go read up on John Mcafee and Belize.
Unfortunately, there's nowhere else to go unless you have millions of LIQUID assets. |

I left my home country (England) to come here when it became apparent that the socialism was so rife, and the mindset so poor (tall poppy syndrome) that I wasn't happy bringing up a child in that environment.
So I moved to Texas. Not looking like I'll have to leave, but I've done it once, I'll do it again If I need to.... |

Always remember, the Jews who left Germany when Hitler took power but before things got too bad were the ones who survived. The ones who stayed went to the concentration camps and the gas chambers. I'm sure it was really tough for those who left early with little money, but I bet they were better off than most who stayed.
|
|
Sounds to me like that's when we'd be needed here the most. So, no.
|
|
of course i would if they got bad enough.
i'm willing to bet that won't happen in my lifetime. we're not even vaguely close now. |

If there were a country with a limited central gov that was free and not a haven of socialism or religious extremism I'd be looking long and hard about immigrating there. Unfortunately even with the downfall of the US in recent decades she is the prettiest crack whore on the block.
If there were a better alternative I would have no problem leaving the US behind. It's sad but the US I was born into in the 80s and grew up in the 90's just doesn't seem to exist anymore. |

One federal law or decree can squash everything |

I'd consider it if there really was someplace to go, but where would that be? This. Southern Mexico. Cash out all assets in precious metals, buy a ton of land, a farm, a wife, some chickens, a pitbull to chase the chickens, a butt load of tequila, and a few machine guns. Live out the rest of your life in the desert. |

I will fight and die to make this country a better place before I un-ass with my tail between my legs.

The peaceful land where I grew up is being torn apart by civil war right now. Timing is everything. I'd leave and not think twice if the writting was on the wall.
LOL at children that only consider gun laws. |

If by leaving you mean to a deserted uninhabitated island then yes, yes I have. But I have no money to do so.
