Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery - Memorial Day Due to an expected Memorial Day rain-out, son Josh was asked Friday afternoon to make something quick and viewable for Killeen's moved-indoors Memorial Day ceremony. Son grabbed drone, and charged drone's batteries on his way there. Shot the video about 8:00 pm Friday late, edited and sent it by about 9:00 pm Saturday night. https://youtu.be/rUO_XjHgGhY |

Thank you and your son for such an artful and thoughtful contribution to those that gave all they had.
I salute you sir, and your son. Looks like a great way you taught him the respect he should show. ETA: Phantom Pilot, Phantom 2 Vision + Pilot, and Phantom 3 Pilot here. In before some a-hole comes along and shits in your thread. |

nice video. i see there are a few new graves and have some questions. to be buried in veterans cemetery do you have to die in war or just be a vet?. are they from soldiers in iraq or afganistan or are the vets who have passed that served in say korea or vietnam? seems like a ton of our boys gave all for our country. RIP.

Amazingly well done, and in such a short time.
To badly paraphrase Samuel Johnson, "The wonder is not that it's done well, but that it's done at all." Ten years ago, a video of that scope and quality would have been hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce with a project time of weeks. If it could have been done at all. For a small audience, it would have been effectively impossible. Today, we understand that an amateur created this at home in 24 hours, and we watch and nod and mumble "Ah, very nice." My God, what will be possible a decade from now? |

You know, I've been there several times and this is the first time I understand the layout of the place. Good job.

That's a great video. What quad/camera is your son using? View Quote One like he was flying in this video DJI Inspire |

Wonder why the US flags appear to be much lower than any other flags shown.... Perspective maybe?

Like Qweevox says, one day soon, out of 100 folks, 4 will grow and make everything for the other 96. |

I went with the P3 because I couldn't justify the cost of an Inspire. Sweet rig! |

He should pursue a career in the filmmaking industry. Great job. Please thank him for me.

View Quote He's a licensed pilot too ... at a fly-in at 77T (Kitty Hill, now gone), I was kibitzing and watching incomers land. Here comes this dog blue and white 182, but the pilot made the best landing of the day. When that dog 182 taxis up, it was my son and the 182 was a rental. |

You should be proud. This country needs more parents like you!

Used to live 2-3 miles from there.
Watched them construct it and was there for some of the first interments. I commuted to post on the funeral route and Patriot Guard Riders played a big part back then. Brings back some memories. |

Nice he was able to find a quad around there that hadn't been shot down.

I feel for those trying to make a living flying full size planes with photographers. They are so out work in the coming years. Thankfully, I got my time in prior to these awesome pieces of gear.

Mark, you should be proud. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile View Quote To be honest, there's not THAT big of a market for it. A photographer who does aerials usually will also do commercial work for local business. Marketing photos for business cards, flyers, online ads/webpages, etc. So it's not like they're totally out of work. Photographers might specialize in weddings or protraits or freelance for news/wildlife, but nobody is doing just aerials. But I see what you're saying and yes it's going to change things a bit for those who sell their aerials to land/business owners. Hijack off. |

Not bad buy should have been shot slow-mo to better go with the pace of the music, imo.
