'Paralyzed' veteran under fire after video shows him walking outside charity-built home
A U.S. veteran who claims to be paralyzed and was given a free wheelchair-accessible home after suffering an IED attack in Afghanistan is under fire after he was filmed walking around his Texas home. The stunning footage showing Army specialist Justin Perez-Gorda unloading lumber in his garage last month came as his wife reportedly argued that the nonprofit behind their home knew for years that he could walk. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/paralyzed-veteran-fire-video-shows-walking-article-1.2232594 Pardon if Dupe... |

It's a miracle! View Quote Concur. At my workplace, I had a bunch of employees asking for ADA accommodations. One of the employees grieved his transfer which he claimed was a great hardship considering his ADA condition. We proved at arbitration that what we did was reasonable and was the only way we could grant that accommodation. His coworkers suddenly had miraculous recoveries and all withdrew their request for reasonable accommodations. |

I suspect that veteran disability programs are nearly if not as rampantly abused as any other government disability program.

I've sit in on interviews with guys drawing 80% Disability. The last one spent 4 months on active duty in the navy after basic training. All he could talk about was all of anti terrorist stuff he had done. |

I've got a customer at work who spends about $300 a month on her one cat's food.
Supposedly a disabled veteran. How do I check into her history, and see how full of shit she really is? |

I volunteered for a veterans with disabilities venue over in Santa Cruz awhile back. My nephews would drive them to the water and they would get on surfboards and ride the waves.
One Army guy had no legs and rode a wave all the way to the beach. I sat and watched that and thought to myself, what drive that man has. Some of the people on those programs are incredible people, others latch on like flies. |

How does a dude get a hyphenated last name? It's common among Hispanics in Texas. I know some that have never been married that have hyphenated last names. Father's last name-Mother's last name. So if his father is Guillermo Eseteban Sanchez and his mother is Isabel Maria del Carmen Roybal-Sanchez, the kids name will be whatever whatever whatever whatever Sanchez-Roybal. It's kinda like Icelandic naming, but slightly less confusing once you figure it out. |

Heard of a few that took their wives last names, and they were severely bitch-like, but it sounds like this might be something else. Something new every day on this site. Though this guy MIGHT still be a yeotch; we'll see. |

He was the only survivor of an IED attack that killed two other soldiers in his truck. The truck was crushed like a can that got stomped from the blast, something like a 200+lb IED pretty much dead under the truck.
His spine and hips were extremely messed up in addition to the TBI. I don't know what exactly he told the foundation, but I'd think they'd look at medical records before doing so much for people. |

There was a guy here in town who got this awesome hunting chair with tank treads and shit, traded it, then claimed it was stolen and banked a bunch of cash on a gofundme.
He was a peacetime vet, never served in combat and claimed a whole bunch of shit for 100%. |
