The upgraded AK-74M will be 50 percent more accurate at a distance of up to 300 meters at any time of day...

Wait, firearms shoot differently through out the day? Are they like a toddler that needs a afternoon nap or they get fussy?

Heat issues like a G36?

Still an AK, just like the M-4 is still a M-16.

What is disturbing is that there is no real progress in design.  HK-11 is the gun that could have been with its caseless ammunition.

It has a built in accuracy compensator to address the progressively increasing blood alcohol content of the Russian soldier as the day wears on.

You have a poor eye for trashcan guns. The folding mechanism is obviously still there. It's needed to fit in small Russian trashcan.

Muzzle device is a take on the older Bulgarian 4-piece flash hider design, which seems to have grown in popularity based on increasing use seen in Ukraine vids. The AK-74 muzzle device really offers no flash suppression at all, and has one hell of a side blast due to the recoil baffle design, while the 4-pc hider offers great flash suppression and redirects muzzle blast forward.

The railed dust cover is attached to a hinge in the rear sight block.

Frankly it looks like Izhmash just bought out the whole Zenitco catalog. Most of their Spetznaz guys were already putting Zenit stuff (especially collapsing M4 style stocks) all over their AK-74Ms so it seems fitting.

You guys can talk about trash cans all you want, but Russians don't want ARs because they don't work with a shit in seriously cold climates without some care and attention, something Russian troops are not known for. That being said, Molot already has the production tooling for M4 clone and manufactures them for Russian civilian market.

Nope I'm not, but cold weather use with little to no lubrication or care is specifically an area where the AK excels over the AR. It was exactly the climate the rifle was designed for.

Plus you have 60+ years manual of arms training you ask their entire military and police force to dump by going with the AR. Not gonna happen.
