so made the mount..it works....and for the guys that say it is "USELESS" they truly do not understand what that word means...

is it great ...nope....how does it compare to a PVS14 ....well poorly...

but will it allow me to shoot a pig in the dark at say 50-75 yards....

YES it will

so made the mount/adapter used an old ARMS flashlight QD bottom and some mild steel... mounted it up....

and for $72 shipped ....well worth the "USELESS" money....

the mount is QD  and all I am waiting on is the Form 1 so I can put the can on this redneck white trash AR of beauty...

I think I paid $95 for a Russian G1.  It's mildly amusing but not really useful.

For 25-50 yard shots mounted behind a micro sight it will work just fine.

No, just no. Digital NV is a cool toy but that's about it.

That doesn't look like a digital unit, which is what is being sold.

there is no way the image looks anything like that.
way too bright and clear for gen 1

some night vision companies have a tendancy to advertise with fake photos to represent their products, or even leave out the fact that they take the images in daylight through the unit.

well I guess we will see...the reviews on amazon say it is blurry and not that it is dark.

I bought one for my son's upcoming birthday (turning 12); I imagine it will be fine for him (and me) to mess around with. The reviews for this on optics planet were better than those on Amazon; I am looking forward to getting it in and comparing it to the youtube video they made.

Worth every penny.

Gen 2+ is the lowest I would consider usable.

Ok, a question on NVGs.  I know in the military, we have to do some semi-regular recharging of them at above the unit level.  A team comes in and (i think) recharges some of the gasses in them and either certifies or replaces certain lenses.  Does anyone know the wear out time for different gens of NVGs? Im not 100% on how they work, but Im pretty sure they have a life expectancy without refurbishing.  Anyone know how long a set is good for?

Interested to read the real arfcom review; I looked through a gen 1 tube and it was beyond worthless.  I've never tried a digital before.
