Well, have you?
I have to admit, all the hoopla and internet hate, I just never picked one up. Saw them at gun shows and stuff but never actually handled one....... until last week. WOW. I mean, wow. I cannot believe someone actually made that. It is unreal.... like nothing else I have experienced. |
I've held and shot bazillions of them working at a range during the first Obama rush because every non-shooter in the world wanted a gun to check the box but didn't want to spend the money.
They are not that bad for the money. Plus they are pretty darn accurate due to the fixed barrel. Trigger leaves a lot to be desired. ETA- Also, made proudly in America, and have one of the best lifetime warranties in the firearm industry hands down. |
Even shot a few.
Every dirtbag in The Bakken seemed to have one - I think they're issue. |
I actually shot a full magazine from a 9x19 Hipoint once. No malfunctions and it was minute of chest cavity accurate at 10 yards or so. I felt like I should have worn a condom, and fortunately the tests from the free clinic came back negative.
I could hardly believe how big the slide was. I felt dirty after handling it.... like I needed to cleanse.
How could anyone be impressed with that thing? Is there NO other gun in that same price range? (I am guessing not) |
Held it. Shot two mags through it. It's an ugly, heavy piece of shit, but it ran and the owner said that it's never malfunctioned on him. He bought it when he just got out of the Army and couldn't afford anything better to keep by the bed while he lived in the hood. He's got better guns now, including very decent ARs, but just can't let that fugly brick go. He brought it out just for shits and giggles for a bunch of people to try.

Shot them lots of times when I worked at a range. Generally, the user set it down on the shelf on the shooting lane, then went into the store to ask why it wouldn't fire. Some lucky employee went into the range, cycled the slide, and emptied the mag. The user then inquired what was that thing we did when we pulled back the top part of it and let go.

neighbor has one. said he bought it cheap in case it gets stolen
he also believes Glocks can go through metal/xray detectors undetected... |
Yes, one of the firearms instructors from another department bought one to use as a joke on the range. He was going to show how cheap it was.
What started out as a roast actually has turned into about 6 years of the POS being 100% with al he has put in it. It has not been cleaned once during this time. Only thing he has done is buy a couple of spare magazines. |
Yep, had a 9mm pistol and 45 pistol, currently have the old school 9mm carbine.
Nothing wrong with any of them.
My friend bought one.....I didn't have the heart to say anything.

Owned one waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the beginning. First 9mm!

To a of them.
I'll pick up a used C9 one day for a cheap truck gun. They work and are accurate |

Had a 380 one, never had a problem with it. It was ugly, heavy, but it shot where I aimed it and did so without complaint.

If you really want to be a douchebag, fire three quick shots, eject the magazine, clear the chamber, and put it back on the shelf with the slide in battery. Say, "It works fine," and walk away fast before they can ask you how you did it. Also, while they do tend to be reasonably accurate and able to function when they're filthy, I think we saw five of them launch the slides downrange. I wouldn't buy one. |

My younger brother has a lot of shitty beat to hell guns, if he sold them he could buy a few quality firearms. I shot his Hi Point 9mm, it goes bang so it is a step up over Jimnez arms.

I have held several. Right after they were confiscated from a gang banger during an arrest.

Put a hundred or so rounds through the C9 I had before I sold it. No malfunctions, accurate enough, just uglier than a bucket of buttholes.
Held them, sold them. They're fine for their intended purpose.
The very first pistol that I shot was a .45acp Hi Point that a friend of mine owned.
It was bulky and ugly, but it went bang every time and was accurate. I would have no problem owning one. |
I had a hi point for-tay back in the day. It was my first pistol actually. Hated it.

Yup. Held them, shot them, sold them. Not a bad gun for the money. Better then nothing.

I don't know anyone that owns one.
I can afford better so I get better. That being said, I do own a SCCY |
Nope, but my buddy picked up one as a HD gun that I've been meaning to fondle. He obviously doesn't love his family .

Yes, I have.
And then promptly washed my hands twice before touching my Sig's. |
