I had a Starbucks frappacino this morning. All this coupled with a 2 hour drive home to Jackson is begging for a Ryan's steakhouse kinda story.

funny how taking a missing apostrophe and turning it into a comma changes the entire meaning of your phrase!

I have mixed feelings about OG.  I don't care for it too much, but it was the place I had my last dinner with my dad before he passed away.  He wanted to go there after some cancer treatment in Seattle before heading home to Spokane.  5 days later, he's in the ICU in Spokane and gone 20 days after that.

I like their spaghetti sauce. It's really not bad, though the spaghetti with sausage is better, IMO.

I went to their stepsister (Red Lobster) last night for a family birthday. It was not horrid. Not on par with good restaurants, but better than most redneck fast food.

The OG here went from being okay, to being absolutely abysmal, to being a pretty decent place to eat over the span of the last five years.
The wife and I go there about once every six weeks or so and, in fact, went there Friday night.

I had the shrimp, scallop, clam with pasta thing.  I'd rate it a solid 7, maybe even an 8.

Breadsticks and salad were all you can eat.  Our server even volunteered to package up an new batch of breadsticks for us to take home.

And, for what it's worth, they made me probably the best Bombay Sapphire martini I have had anywhere at any price.

They make a passable meal. Some menu items are much better than others....the salad is awesome....the bread sticks are awful. There is one local Italian place here in town, and it's downright awful. I got food poisoning the last time I ate there. I don't mind going to Olive Garden.

Listen, I don't eat at either OG or RL, but saying OG's food is worse than Chef Boyardee is, indeed, real retarded.

My high school friend's father used to make pasta fagioli. He was first generation Italian.

I also cooked for a brief time. I worked for one of the biggest assholes in the entire food service industry. They have a Hall Of Fame and he's in it. He liked to tell us that he could make, "a mean fettuccine alfredo," and he could. So I learned that.

Since then, I'm very careful about ordering those two dishes at any Italian restaurant, including the ones in New York City.
