I currentlyl have some Skull Candy ear buds, but they wont stay in when bouncing around on my zero turn mower.

Would like to keep the price under $50

Thanks

They're not under 50 but I think you can get some like them that are. But my boy has some BOSE ear buds that don't actually stick in your ear canal. They have these big wing type things that fill your whole ear. They're pretty secure cause they don't really rely on friction.

I bought a set of Bluetooth (Wireless) QY7 SoundPEATS off Amazon.  They stay in place even with my jarring the hell out of my body running at the gym.

Finding earbuds that fit you well is the key to sound quality and comfort.  They won't fall out if they fit right.
If they don't fit well they won't sound good either.

Shure makes some with different ear molds.

In the meantime, put the buds in with the stems pointing up, then loop the wire behind your ear.  It'll help some.

Which Skull Candy models did you get? I've used the Ink'D for ages and like them quite a lot and never have a problem with them coming out, and i'm using a pushmower

The earpods that come with iphones are REALLY awesome if you get the little earskinz silicone covers that slip over them. The pods by themselves have fantastic
sound, but are made of a really slick white plastic material that won't stay in my ear more than 5 seconds.

the kind with a rubber shell around them stay in better IME.

Don't get ones too small.  I needed tweezers once to get the shell out, it was awful.

Rig up a face mask which sucks on your nose, and that will keep your earbuds from falling out.

Look up "Eustachian Tubes".

Shure makes excellent noise blocking earbuds.  My old Klipsch earbuds gave out after about 5 years and I did some research and really like the Shure.

I bought Shure SE535 ($500).  37 dB of noise isolation, excellent sound quality (3 High-Definition MicroDrivers), and secure attachment.  I use them at the gym and while travelling.  These are used by rock band musicians so that they can hear themselves when on stage.

The SE215 ($99) are supposed to be a very good value and also have 37 dB of noise isolation.  Similar to the more expensive models but cheaper drivers.

The SE112 ($49) also claim 37 dB of noise isolation but don't look as secure as the more expensive models.

I had a lot better luck with ear buds once I figured out that ear lobes come equipped with a cut-out for the cord part of the bud. Put them in your ear correctly and they work better.

Your problem isnt with the ear bud but with the ear piece. Find the right ear piece and the ear bud will fit. Thats why the squishy ear piece is removeable, and generally (hopefully) you bought a set that comes with different sizes.

JVC with the ear hook piece thingy. I got through about a pair a year because the sweat will creep into the ear piece and eventually kill it (from what I can tell). They are under $20 at best buy and probably 10 on amazon.

For mowing, I use hearing protectors that have a built in radio.  Earbuds just have to be louder than the mower, which is actually worse for you.
There is an input jack as well.

I like Blackberry ear buds, they dont go in the ear canal rather they sit on the ear...bowl thing.  When my ears warm up the wax gets warm and then they slide out some while as these never have that problem and you can wear them hours on end without issue.  Even if you dont have a blackberry look on their store for them and if you can buy them or find a similar design elsewhere, do it!

JAC Marshmallows.   They use memory foam for the pads, so it squeezes to the shape of your ear canal.  $7 to $19 depending on where you get them.

They are over $50 but bose earbuds are what you want. They are the very best at staying in your ear when you are active. I've had a set for about 3 years now and they work and sound great. Well worth paying a bit extra for if you can afford them.

Amazon Panasonic's for like 8 bucks are the best deal out there. I have gone through tons if ear buds and got sick of spending $30 on a pair only for the wires to pull out on the plug. Ironically these have lasted longer than any more expensive pairs.

Interesting. My biggest complaint about my iPhone 6(all Apple products, really), is the low quality of their headphones. The ones that came with my new phone sound nice, as long as I hold them in place with a finger.

Just add these foam buds to any of your other pair.  They're awesome.  Very good at cancelling out noise too.  You have to roll them between your finger to shrink it down enough to get in your ear, then they expand out.  They're basically foam ear plugs with a hole for your headphones.  I can't recommend this setup enough.  Noise protection + great sound.

I just went through a long, expensive search and ended up finding a relatively cheap solution. Thank god for Amazon's liberal return policies.

Given their cheap price, the comfort and unobtrusive fit is better than anything else I've owned (and that includes some +$100 Sennheisers, Etymotics, etc.), and the sound is excellent for this price point. Better than Sony's that cost 3x as much.

This is the kind of shit I hope for, when asking for recommendations - experience with a lot of alternatives.

I hope you chime in on the headphone thread I'm about to start. I need a closed back pair for recording/broadcast (my Grado's sound phenomenal, but understandably leak into the mic).
