The situation with the wife's grandmother is so fucked up. Hospital calls wife's aunt, tells her ma is unresponsive, she calls wife's mom (her sister) and says she is unresponsive, she is gone, and asks her to let everyone else know as she is too upset..... wife's mom calls the rest of the family and tells them all she is dead...... They all rush to the shore to console each other when the hospital calls to tell them she is being moved to a different room..... wife's sister who took the call then has to say "um guys, she isn't dead"........ So apparently she is still alive but part of the do not resuscitate also says no not artificially feed so they removed the feeding tube last Friday (not sure if anyone in the family understood about that). My guess is she dies in the next few days and our romantic trip for two to Paris becomes a trip to NJ for a funeral. View Quote So from Paradise to Hell? |

Yes, Mark, I'm sorry, too.
Nothing like poor communication to make a bad situation worse. |

Went to my niece's soccer game, bought 50 pounds of fertilizer, mowed, fertilized, scratched out the dead areas, seeded, and drank a shitload of beer.
Got a mild sunburn (the good kind). I am on tired and slightly drunk dragon. |

I'm sorry, Mark. That's depressing and frustrating. View Quote Family fuckups aside, to be honest she has had 92 good years followed by 3 really crappy years - getting a bad case of shingles and losing most of her sight, losing her house to "hurricane" Sandy, living with family for two years instead of her own house, in and out of hospitals and nursing homes for the last 6 months. There's no worthwhile recovery from this, it's her time and I think it will be a relief for her if she passes quickly and as comfortably as possible. Will I be grumpy if we miss out on our only chance at a romantic vacation for a few years, yes, but in the grand scheme of things it's inconsequential. |

Guess it's all part of getting older.
I used to go to weddings all the time, now I guess I should go buy a nice black suit. |

had a good day at my brothers. smoked a chicken. bunch of food. then to the back yard shooting BB guns and bow and arrow. Then been looking at tractors on CL. |

Glad yall showed up!!!
I was going to ask about tractors. Im looking at 10 acres, but its dense. Like jungle. Id like to keep as many trees as possible, but clear the underbrush of about 5 acres of it. There is probably a 1-2 acres pond on it, that Ill leave wooded around it. Im thinking 4wd, FEL, with maybe a 48" bush hog. Also, been thinking of skid steers with a mulching head, but they are $$$. Figure if I can spend $10K on a setup, thats what clearing the land would cost me anyway. |

But also, I am sure I could use the tractor down the road, just to maintain the 5 acres I clear.
So itll be an investment also. |

An unfortunate piece of news...the illumination on my scope on 1x is very insufficient, and the reticle is too damn small. May have to sell it.
