“Footage from the station’s surveillance camera shows the group running from the minivan toward the victim, with the boy’s mother, 34-year-old Aleathea Gillard, swinging the rocking chair leg, police said. A close family friend, Shareena Joachim, 24, carried the Mace, they say. “Joachim was the first to reach the man as he stood by the door of the station’s convenience store. She tried to spray the Mace in his eyes – but missed, hitting someone in her group instead, police said. “As she backed off, Gillard and others moved in. “Gillard swung the chair leg into the victim’s head and face, hitting him over and over, until the chair leg broke over his head, police said. One woman beat the victim with what police believe is a hammer. Two juveniles, police said, stomped and kicked him in the head. “As the group pulled back, Joachim pulled the boy by his red-and-yellow jacket toward the victim, let him look, and then ushered him back into the van before it pulled away.” “”The male right now is not doing that great, he’s in critical condition. We’re not sure if he’s gonna make it or not and It’s very tragic,” said Capt. Malachi Jones, Philadelphia Police.”

The mom and her herd believed him and applied a beat down resulting in part of the mans brain being removed. Police say it all began when a 10-year-old boy told his mother that he got into an argument with the man over who was going to pump customers' gas for spare change.

That looked like the whole family showed up to give a beating. I'm thinking the guy may have crossed some line in their eyes.

It started Tuesday afternoon, when Gillard confronted her 10-year-old son, police sources said. She wanted to know where he had been. He said that, en route to his house, on Wellens Avenue near 5th Street in Olney, he had stopped at the nearby Sunoco gas station at 5th Street near Tabor Road. There, the boy said, he tried to earn some extra cash by offering to pump customers' gas, according to Lt. Dan Brooks, of Northwest Detectives. While he was there, he ran into a neighborhood fixture, a homeless man who often does odd jobs around the area. He, too, wanted to pump gas for money, Brooks said. An argument broke out, and the boy would later claim the man assaulted him. Only problem is that, according to Brooks, there is no evidence that the man did anything more than get into a verbal argument with him. Article It gets better In the wake of the beating, Gillard and Joachim also went to Einstein - they sought medical attention for Gillard's son, sprayed by the Mace, sources said.
But the blood on their hands and shoes gave them away, and police arrested them as they sat in the hospital's parking lot. All over a 10 year old lying. |

The video is worth watching. The attack goes on for a couple of minutes even after the guy is on the ground barely/not moving at all.
8 attackers came out of that van? Looks like there was a first wave which knocked the guy down followed by a second wave that continued to stomp him while he was down. |

How do you teach an animal a lesson? All they understand is pain and death, so let them have it.

The mother had her children panhandling at the station.
I've fell for this trick myself and given the children money. I ran across an approximately 6 year old boy with his 8 year old brother begging for money at a gas station in the ghetto. I only stopped there out of necessity for gas. I gave the boys money and asked where their mother was, they told me at the Taco Bell across the street. She was probably watching or stuffing her face. Sick. The mother probably spent it on crack. |
