Back on July 7th, 1982 when I was getting out of grade school at the age of 12 my parents helped my get my first SP1 as an eight grade graduation present. It was sold back in the 90's by them who for whatever reason forgot that I paid for half of it and it was my gift. That has always been a sore spot but time marches on. I'm now going to try and locate her so if anyone has a Colt AR-15 serial number SP154280 send me a IM or a email. It's a long shot but I figured I'd give it a whirl.

I don't have it but how fucking cool would it be if a member did?  Arf delivers a lot lets hope it can do it again.

Good luck buddy I hope you track her down.

Now that would be my luck. FWIW I have seen over the years on the CMP forum folks find their dads or a close relatives M1 Garand so you never know.

Your best bet is to hit up CT members, a lot of SP1s have recently moved into the state due to their pre ban status.

I hope you find your first love.

I know of a few around. But if they are one of them, you won't get it. If it is in Ca, it would a registered pre ban, and the owner wouldn't part with it.

Too luck with your search!

Good luck.  That would be cool as hell.  All my AR's are frankenguns, so no help here.

You should cross post in the vintage forum here.  I believe there are a few early Colt registry forum/sites out there also.

Good luck, I hope that you can track it down.

Good luck OP.  It would be really cool if you found it.

Try the Wisconsin hometown forum as well.

Yep, if you put it in your sig line and someone googles the number, your posts will popup.

Honestly, even a meager award could get people mindful of looking for it.

I don't care, and saved the S# in my phone for future SP1 sightings.  I generally check out everyone I see at a shop or show anyway.
