Saw this earlier today and really reminded me of watching Mark Weber flip his Mercedes at Le Mans in '99. Shit happens when your engineers don't get the downforce right.

Bummer. You're there watching a race and get killed. It's not like one of them rally races or baja where there's nothing between the spectators and the track.

Happened at flugplatz, which translates to airfield/airport, since its common for cars to get airborne there when they hit the crest just prior to the turn. Probably the reason why you get people wanting to watch there. |

It would seem to me that once you get air under the car at any kind of speed the shape of the car becomes like an airplane wing and up it goes.

I've lost it many times in video games on that corner, it's a tough one if you're not careful, and even worse when things go really wrong. Prayers to the victims. |

Very unusual...I don't think I've seen one like that with a factory car, let alone a GTR. Had to be modded, and poorly. Or something...no way it should do that

At least they have a catch fence.. some of those European rally races just boggle the mind... people out in the road watching for the oncoming cars; diving out of the way as they come by; inside and outside corners... just amazing it isn't a bloodbath every race.

I've watched a lot of races, for this very reason I would never sit at the end of a long straight. Really sucks for all involved.
