For now. A search on GB shows that none of it is selling. The few auctions that are selling are going for 40-50 cents per round. The auctions for bullets are still going, but prices seem pretty normal. The neckbeards can now return to flipping 22LR.
Good lessons to be learned from this. |

Well, I guess I'll put my measly 200 rounds back in the closet.

It will fade away.
Just like Streetsweepers,7n6,Fast & Furious,etc.. The Republicans will put up a show about trying to reverse it,but things will quiet down and nothing will happen. The death of a thousand cuts will continue. |

And to think I was busy doing a victory lap for getting 1000 rounds of CCI Velocitor from a Midway yesterday.

a: Billions of rounds are now in play - everybody has some. Low demand. b. I heard it here on day one & It took 2 weeks to escalate - how can the panic be over, 1 day after ATF wobbles? |

I hope so...I really only shoot m855 in my Ar's and this whole ordeal has me monumentally irritated...Granted i did buy a few 420rd cans@169 shipped from PSA but i kept them to shoot.

Cabelas had a deal in early December on Federal M855. $0.298/round after tax shipped. Max of 300 rounds per order to get that price but you could place as many orders as you wanted.
Those without tax were getting it for $0.275. |

View Quote Saturated market, and alternatives. There is a shit ton of M855/SS109 out there, and most people already know that there are many other kinds of .223/5.56 that isn't being banned and much of it is better than M855/SS109. |

It is superior ammo and all the 855 panic has also jacked the price of 193 up because stupid neckbeards don't know the difference. Also general rules of supply and demand take place. When 1/3+ of the ammo supply is cut the demand for the other is going to skyrocket. |

Glad to see people arn't buying at inflated prices.
Now, if they'd stop buying 22 at inflated prices it would return to normal. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I have a couple dozen rounds of unpainted Radway Green, and not quite a case of XM855 on order. Yes, I did panic buy a tiny amount at panic rates. Since I don't shoot the stuff much, I also used the panic time to strategically discuss my ammo situation with the household CFO and point out that I only buy much ammo every couple years. I explained my concerns about the price effects on other ammo if the cheap stuff dries up.
She realized I was ready to prepare a PowerPoint presentation to support my proposal, rolled her eyes, and said, "Fine. Happy Easter." The SS109 stuff and XM193 wasn't nearly as expensive/round as the 77gr OTM tacked on to the same order. |

View Quote It is true but many people lack reading comprehension and are celebrating and jumping to conclusions. So here is the skinny. What the ATF is saying was a publishing error was that someone found in their 2014 manual or regulations that the exemption for the 62gr penetration projectile had ALREADY been removed. The ATF acknowledged this and that is what the publishing error is. NOW everyone is jumping to joy BUT. The comment period it still open and they are still considering removing the exemption in present day . The only publishing error was that it had ALREADY been banned which it has not. HOWEVER they are still actively looking to ban the projectile and the comment period is open for a few more days. |

View Quote I don't know where people are getting the idea that they aren't going forward with the ban. Just because they fucked up and printed it early doesn't mean they aren't doing it. |

Well, I guess I'll put my measly 200 rounds back in the closet. what do you need an arsenal for ? The guilt over having those baby-heat-seeking bullets prompted me to try and sell it locally. I figured the kind of soulless monster who would buy such filth would likely be a dirty capitalist with more money than sense. It seems that I will have to bear out this shame. |

That's what I am asking. I have been dealing with real world shit and trying to figure this out.

Well up in Alaska any 5.56 was hard to find at decent prices, and consistent brands before the ban. Now might as well forget about it.
I am picky I don't like have 200rds of Brand A, 400 of brand B. You get the idea. I like training with the same stuff all the time. |
|
If the ban goes through the prices will jump yet again. The fact that so much surplus ammo was taken off the shelves with the threat of the ban does not bode well for prices longer term.
I am curious if importers will continue to import on March 16th or wait in see what the decision is? |
|
Until i can get m855 for $350 per 1k shipped to my door i call it panic.
