Yeah there is a few things going on in this .gif, not only does it include plenty of parenting fail, I think that car is traveling
the wrong way.

Also I couldn't find much more info on the .gif other than it's 6 months old and was posted on imgur here
One of the posters mentioned that the kids were ok.

I remember being about four years old with my mother drilling it into my head to look both ways before crossing a road. They failed that big time.

I don't see why people are offended by the gif. It documents a mistake, and should be used as an example.

It is not offensive. It should have it's own thread showcasing why it is important to look both ways before crossing a street. You would think that would just be something everyone knows by instinct, but clearly that gif shows that to not be the case.

I almost got run down in just that way. Stupid Latina in a Camry rolling the wrong way down a one way street. I looked for oncoming traffic in the corrct direction, was just about to step out when she blew by me, doing over the speed limit...

Doesn't matter. The fault is still on the mom. They didn't even stop, just kept walking between parked cars and even if they did look they didn't have a clear look of traffic in either direction. This should be an expected result if you do that.

I wonder how many of the affected also have / are kids?

First, I laughed. I thought it was a fake, and that girl really bounced well.

Then, I realized that was a real dashcam.

I've been here a long, long, time.

It would have been distasteful if the kids would have actually gotten seriously injured. Since they weren't, shouldn't be an issue. Both got up and were walking almost immediately.

Impossible to say how the kids are From that short clip. Yeah kids are tough but they fair worse than anyone else in a pedestrian strike. Their head and vitals are right at bumper level. Doesn't take much of an impact to seriously fuck them up.

That almost happened to me in 1989, except it was a CTA bus, doing about 35 near the Sears Tower. Someone grabbed my shoulder. Saved my life with about 1 second left on the clock.
