According to a report by a British pro-Islamic but anti-terrorism think tank (Quilliam), ISIS is announcing plans to invade Europe, through Spain, Italy, and Greece. ISIS already controls the cities of Sirte and Derna in Libya. Using these cities as bases, they plan to hijack cruise liners, tankers, and other ships in the Mediterranean (using the model of the Somali pirates), hold some of them for ransom, and use others to transport fighters to ports in southern Europe. They also plan to infiltrate fighters into Europe by joining the waves of illegal immigrants crossing the Mediterranean in small boats.
ISIS web sites are showing maps of Europe with areas marked that they claim belong to the Islamic Caliphate. These include all of Spain (because of the historic Moorish occupation), and all the Balkans as far as Vienna (because of the historic Ottoman occupation). To say that this is alarming is an understatement! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/isis-plans-to-use-immigrant-boats-from-libya-to-cause-terror-in-europe-and-close-shipping-routes-10053148.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/islamic-state/11418966/Islamic-State-planning-to-use-Libya-as-gateway-to-Europe.html http://rt.com/news/233335-isis-islamic-libya-europe/ http://www.quilliamfoundation.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/publications/free/libya-the-strategic-gateway-for-the-is.pdf |

Why?
All they have to do is go back to the European country they came from in the first place and start killing. |

Hey look at that cruise ship slowly lumbering its way into port full of snack bars. Um. Do we send out the tugs or just let the idiots crash into something and then napalm it?
|

I guess the EU refuses to grant millions if Libyan ISIS fighters asylum like the US is doing, so they have to figure out another way.

Still more realistic than the Red Dawn remake. They WERE gonna use the Chi-coms... Until the Chicoms cried bloody murder and the studio changed the bad guys to the Norks. The Norks invading America - Yeah, that will happen. |

You damn betcha. |

It seems to me that the ROPers are breeding their way to victory. No need to fight -- just breed like they have been for a few more generations and they will 'win'.

You can't do that from a cruise ship...... So they roll in with 1200 hostages? And do what, demand to be let off the ship and not shot at? You are not taking a cruise ship with nobody knowing, and you are not docking a cruise ship in a port without somebody knowing |

they think anything that was taken over by Islam 1000 year ago belongs to Islam today

You KNOW they're chomping at the bit to take over the Vatican. And blow it up. |

I thought is was, move into your country, breed like rabbits, take over by shear numbers.

View Quote The real problem with ISIS and their ilk is individual opportunity. With several European governments begging their citizens who have traveled to Syria and Iraq and went native to come home and rejoin society, and our own government working hard to import as many people from affected areas as possible with no regard to where their loyalties lay, we are going to be wide open to small groups and individuals who want to cause trouble. They don't have to Take Atlanta and Washington DC to destroy us, a couple thousand small attacks in a short time would do it just as well. |

Problem isn't landing an invasion force. Problem is keeping it fed and supplied for the totality of the conflict.
If ISIS tries this stunt, they will soon learn the meaning of the old saying, "Amateurs think strategy. Professionals think logistics." |
|
Why? They have ALREADY invaded EU and are dragging it to its death economically!

Sounds like a one way suicide mission as how do they see themselves getting resupplied.
Are they going to play pickup ass they go |

If I were Europe, as it were, I would take them at their word, and commence operations in my own territory to root out and exterminate any sympathizers.

This would be a one-way trip for the first wave. Enter Europe, live off the land, inflict as much damage as possible, and die. The early Ottoman Turks would attack in waves. Their first waves would be the "bashi-bazouks" or "crazy heads." The aim was to soften up the opposition, and these troops were expendible. After them came the highly disciplined Janissaries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bashi-bazouk ISIS is basing its strategy and tactics on traditional Islamic warfare. (The decapitations and other atrocities are part of this, to throw the enemy off balance and weaken the will to resist.) If we stick to the Western style of warfare, we increase the asymmetrical nature of the struggle. This leaves us at a disadvantage. |

Yes, I am sure the leaders of ISIS are all well read scholars on theories of medieval forms of proto-Turkish military campaigns and the early Arab Muslim expansion. |

Until the West finally gets sick of dealing with it and decides to get serious. That will take a hell of a political shift, though... |
