regardless of how boney models are, or how the media creates an unrealistic ideal of beauty, I can't agree with the movement to put fat (not curvy Ie Marilyn Monroe) women in the modeling limelight. Being overweight is as dangerous as being skinny. We don't have a skinny problem in this country. We have an obesity problem.
We don't necessarily need to shame fat people, but we shouldn't make it ok either. Disclaimer- I am a fatty who worked out 18 of the last 21 days. Despite my central obesity, I have lowered my body fat % from 27 to 20 over the past 15 months. I'm just tired of being fat and avoiding looking in the mirror because of it. |

I was on Match.com long enough to discover that "curvy" means fat. "Average" also means fat. "Athletic" means strong and fat. "Weight in proportion to height" means tall and fat. "Few extra pounds" means morbidly obese.
