My dad's good friend that was in Vietnam says they were told not to fuck with the Aussies and South Koreans.

My FIL tells stories of drinking with some Ausies in Vietnam. He said they were pretty good at it.

my dad's favorite picture of himself taking off in F-4 was from an Aussie FAC...he always had good things to say about those guys.

100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings this year. It's where the ANZAC legend was born.

Check out "The Water Diviner". Good movie by Russell Crowe. There's also a Gallipoli mini series this year too.

One of my good friends from Cambodia, who passed on just a few years ago (FUCK CANCER

), was famous for an incident in Viet Nam during the Battle of Coral-Balmoral where he had led a bayonet charge while they were singing "Walzing Matilda" against the NVA,. He was awarded the Military Cross for that action and another where he led an attack against a bunker and tunnel system. His name was John "JP" Salter, and he was a good friend.
