I'm lost if I don't carry a folding knife daily. Always some sort of clip, thumb assist, lockback, folder. When I traveled to San Antonio last summer for business, I just went ahead and switched to my automatic knife.
But what pocket do you carry it in? I've been carrying in my right front pocket, but with my CCW on my right side, I'm starting to think this isn't the best option. I went downtown today, switched it to my left front pocket, I'm not sure I could poke anybody in the kidney left handed if I had too. I'm not looking at knife fighting, I'm looking more in fighting off someone trying to separate me from my CCW. |

All at the same time: Three or more often times at once along with my carry gun, along with a tazer in an undisclosed location.
Don't screw with me. |

Right front - Knife & keys
Left front - Phone Sometimes they all end up in the same pocket and I get a new screen for the phone a few days later. |

Right front. Pistol clocked just behind it
One odd thing I got going for me is I carry my wallet in my left rear pocket instead of my right, being right handed, I find it interesting. |

Quoted: Rt front View Quote Yes it feels odd at first, but I have a spare mag in my right front pocket along with a flashlight and phone. Left pocket is keys, left hip is my g36. Right hip is my lcp (most of the time, sometimes I'm lazy). I'm left eye dominant so I'm right handed for everything but shooting. Also it gives me an added option if I am asked for my wallet and can't get to a gun without being obvious. Might not be for you, but it works for me.

Clipped to the right front pocket, gun just behind it on my belt.
My front left pocket has my wallet and cell phone, adding a knife would make those tricky to pull out and would probably scratch up my phone's screen. |

You should have asked if they are right or let handed as well.
Right handed. Carry knife left front pocket if carrying a pistol. Right front pocket if not. |

Back right. I don't have a CCW in NJ and I carry my wallet in my front pocket so the knife is out of the way but easy to access.

Right front or right knife pocket if I'm being all mall ninja with 5.11 pants and whatnot

Usually right front. Trying to get myself trained to handle knife left handed. I seem left hand-tarded though.

View Quote Tho I started with the wallet in the left rear pocket long before I started carrying a gun. I've carried a pocket knife in my right front pocket for over 40 years. |

I carry an Endura clipped in my right front pocket, an LCP in my right rear pocket, my wallet in my left rear pocket, an NAA 1" .22 in my bra, a G30 and spare G21 magazine in a Coronado carry purse, an old style Cold Steel Spike strapped to the underside of my left forearm, a Gerber MK l on my right ankle and a 642 on my left. In my left front pocket, I carry a Binaca breath spray, because - well, you know - I wouldn't want to offend anyone.

That, or left sleeve pocket. Easier to get out setting down, or when in a crashed car. A knife in your left pocket is handy for gun retention should the bad guy get close enough to grapple. A knife in your right pocket wont help you should you need it to cut a bad guy off you to clear some room to bring your gun to bear. A sleeve pocket wont help much in that case, but who said I only carry one knife. |
