.....horse was feeding around 20 feet from a barn and 70 feet from a home. "All of a sudden (the owners) heard a commotion," he said. "There was a pack of coyotes that had taken the horse down," said Osmon of the mare, or an adult female horse, before the animals were chased off by dogs on the property. Unfortunately they ganged up on this mare and drug her down from the back," he said, with the incident also posted on the mounted unit's Facebook page. "We just need to get out to the community there is a danger right now. "It could have been a kid or adult," Osmon said. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Oakland County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene along with the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department. View Quote |

They are just like dogs and all they need is love and compassion. How people can hate such a beautiful animal is beyond me.

"Stay clear of coyotes"? I don't think so.
I go looking for them. If more people went looking for them, we'd have less of a problem. |

Coyotes are dog-shaped cockroaches. Kill them on sight.

My father has had coyotes drag newborn holstein calves off. They've also attacked down cows (partially eat them). But their limits are pretty low, he leaves young calves out in pasture and they're never bothered. Full size cows aren't bothered either. These aren't little coyotes, the neighbors shoot them fairly regularly and they look like full grown wolves. As scary as they seem like they could be, I've never heard from people around here of them going after anything but deer and little critters.
There a nuclear power plant nearby? |

There was a woman killed by 'em iirc up in Canada. The thought was they had interbreeded with wolves.

I hate me some coyotes and all, but why are the cops still using horses? Horses are like a 4-wheeler that you have to put gas in and take in for repairs even if you haven't been riding the damned thing. Sounds like a waste of money and resources to still be using horses.

Had 3 coyotes attack my small herd of goats. Luckily, I stopped them before they did any damage
Interesting, in that they circled the goats until they were in a tight ball, much like large fish balling up baitfish |

I've taken two where I hunt. This was in the next county over from where I hunt. I will be out there this weekend and try to do my share to thin them little bastards out.

That's one animal that doesn't make it out of my food plots, I'll pass on a buck to shoot a yote!

I saw a big one today eating road kill on a busy road (123 between Beeville and Kenedy) in broad daylight. Usually they're too timid for that.

They make a nice comforter. I managed to trap two skunks this past week in my Duke #2 traps and the yotes took them both from the traps. http://www.glacierwear.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/o/coyote_fur_comforter.jpg View Quote I want one a comforter like that! lost calves before to the bastards.. edit: Special Price: $5,495.00 Nope.. I'll learn to tan hides, sew, and kill the critters with a sparkle in my eye before I'd pay that. |

I may or may not live Lapeer county...
The little bastards are always out in the farmer's field behind my house. I have to watch the dog like a hawk when she goes out to pee. I really should get some NV and start shooting some coyotes... |

Coyote lives matter!
Paws up don't shoot! My puppy dindu nutten! |

I very much doubt that coyotes could bring down a horse. Do you know how many coyotes that would be? Something else is involved.
