Watched Black Sails tonight (DVR), Was disapointed that yet another show felt they had to add a heavy gay element to the show. Afterward, I watched Walking Dead...what do we have... more dudes making out.
Prior to these, I was watching How to get away with Murder (Wife's show, should have been named how to get away with poor writing) and we get to see one of the main characters make out with his boyfriend, and hear "give me that hot ass!" seriously?  
I'm generally accepting of gays, have friends that are lesbian, but they know that not everyone needs or wants to hear about their sexual preferences. Likewise I dont feel the need to talk to them about mine. On second thought if I'm a D-bag for being grossed out by two dudes going at it instead of thinking awww that's so sweet. then so be it. I can live with that, I can't help that my stomach turns, it's not intentional, it's just the way it is. |

Nobody seemed to care when Max and Guthrie were lezzing out or Max and Anne Bonnie were lezzing out. The show is about 18th century sailors and you guys are up in arms because the main character is apparently bisexual? Yeah I roll my eyes because it's become the "hip" thing to do, much like shakey cam in action movies/shows. It hasn't ruined the fucking show for me though. Get over yourself.

After having had some time to digest, this angle really bothers me. I don't particularly care if there is a gay character in a movie, though like most heterosexual men I don't want to see that (but would prefer hot lesbians). I defended HBO with the Loras scenes because they were necessary to get the plot moving forward as there wasn't time to hint at it like in the books. But this change cheapens the show. I am sick and tired of Hollywood thinking that humanity can be boiled down to (1) who you want to fuck; and (2) daddy issues. Flint and Guthrie were the two most interesting characters on the show. Hell, with the possible exception of Charles Vane they were the only two interesting characters on the show. Everyone else was pretty much one-dimensional. And especially Captain Flint. Why was a former naval officer a pirate? How can someone with an obvious conscience do what he does? What are the motives for an educated man turned to piracy? What does he want to do with all that gold? Yet in one episode Flint boils down to being guilty at the buttsex, and Guthrie is all about the daddy issues. Human nature fucking explained once more. I guess it is my own fault. I should have known not to expect any kind of depth from Michael Fucking Bay.

And I am reading that Walking Dead gheyed it up , too ? Lovely  Oh well , such is life in the 21st century . . . . inject the pickle-ticklers into every form of media that they can get away with . I still like the show , for now, and will continue watching , for now.......but we had better get more Max and Ann rug-munching , dammit!!  |

So, does the relevance of that book mean Flint and Mr. Barlow are bisexual? Because the show has now twisted it into flint and Mr. Barlow being 100% gay. They certainly did. I do not recall the episode but am absolutely sure it happened. She is hot as fuck. Season 1 Episode 4 she bangs Flint, quite well, it's quite visual.  |

I am going to keep watching. Anne Bonny - she pissed and people are probably going to die (brutally) because of it. She is my favorite character. I wonder if they are going to introduce Mary Reed into the story. Anne Bonny and (Calico)Jack Rackham in Nassau in 1715 is historically correct. Fun Fact- The Urca de Lima was part of the 1715 plate fleet that foundered on the East Coat of Florida in 1715 (along with six other ships) and the treasure was piled onto to beach by survivors. I own a couple Spanish Escudos from this event. I am wondering if the series will follow the historical account of what happens next (Flint and Silver are of course fictional pirates). |
