There are almost no details on the Florida shooting yet and they are still trying to piece together the New York thing. For all we know, it could have been a personal vendetta against this officer. Could have been an ex wife. Might have been aliens. This place has way too much "Thin blue line, good shoot, went home safe" attitude in threads where initial reports are fuzzy on details. Might as well know what's going on before you string somebody up. |

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and the Tarpon Springs Police Department are investigating the shooting of a police officer that took place early Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on December 21, on Grand Boulevard in Tarpon Springs. Police were originally called out for a noise ordinance complaint as the suspect was banging on residential doors. When police arrived the suspect shot one of the cops and then attempted to flee in a vehicle. Detectives say a male suspect is now in custody, and the officer was also a male, but no names have been released. The shooting happened at 3 a.m. at or near 199 Grand Boulevard, a few blocks from the city's Sponge Docks. No other information has been released. The sheriff's office said it will provide more details at a news conference later Sunday morning. Bay News 9 will carry the news conference live. |
