How much did it cost?
I went to a Christmas tree lot today just to look - I haven't bought a "real" tree in over thirty-five years (I have a crummy fake tree).

I thought, "what the heck, it's late in the season and I'll get a real tree this year" - Holy Crap the prices for a cut dead pine tree, it's not gonna happen!

Now I'm thinking about just getting a potted pine that I can plant in my back yard in a few weeks.....

Yes, every year. Ours was $30, daughters was $25.

Nope.

But I did take the family up into the Hills and shot down a nice 7' blue spruce with two rounds of 12 gauge 2 3/4" BB though.

Much faster than a saw.

Yes.  Free.

I cut xmas trees on sundays w a family friend.  We charge $40 no matter the size.  We cut and bail them.

I have had one real tree that I didn't cut down. Tree lots are for suckers. We have a fake tree that we have used for years. Its not bad. Much easier, which is good since I don't care for Christmas.

I guess I just can't see paying almost half the price of a cord of wood for a single (soon-to-be-useless) dead pine tree.
Don't get me wrong - I love Christmas and real trees, but I just can't justify it financially....

I guess I'll just put up my "Charlie Brown" fake tree again tomorrow..

Yes. Lowes. $19 and change.

Nope- can't have a real tree in the house, due to two of us being allergic to pine

We live in the woods.

Even with the mark up at the general store (yup, we only have one store for everything in town) it was only $35 for a 10 footer.

Got ours the first of the month.  Lowe's Hardware...30.00

Just get a plastic one and spray some Pine Scent or Axe Body Spray and be done with it.

Yes, we buy a  14-16' Frazier Fur every year. Usually pay ~$300. One year we were able to find an 18'. It cost like $500. Wish we could get taller but, they are impossible to find locally. Our ceiling is 22' high.

$30-40 for a 7.5' Virginian Pine from the tree farm. I don't buy cut trees if I get a real one.

There's a seasonal tent by the loop in town that sells the same trees for $150+....

Cut this one myself at the local tree farm. The owner then shakes and bails it.

$20

Yep, bought one a couple of weeks ago for 50 bucks.

The wife has had sinus problems and headaches ever since we brought it in the house. Serves her right...it was her idea to get a real tree.

looks real. Not one of those cheap looking ones.

Wife wanted a real tree. But she doesn't have to mess with the fucking needles in the carpet when we tear it down.

$10 for a permit from forest service.

Then you can cut it down pretty much anywhere in NF

spot where I was this season. Base of the hill is where my car was.

Dang!

Well, I'm single and live alone - I suppose if I had a family I would easily spend that to make a family Christmas tradition and memory.

We pay few dollars and cut our own Christmas tree.

Depends.  If I buy versus cut, I usually spend $100 -150.  I like big (7' or so), bushy noble firs, so no surprise on the cost.

We cut our own, kids love it. We've been doing it since they were babies. This year it was $75

Couple more years, youngest will be out of the house, I'll miss it then

my daughter turns 4 on christmas this year.  i think she is old enough to experience real trees.  we went to walmart and bought one for $29.

growing up, my family always bought a real tree; i just want to continue the tradition with my daughter.

I prefer fake.  Less muss, less fuss, less likely to burn the house down.  Put it up early, take it down late if you want.  You can buy a fresh pine wreath if you just need to have that pine scent.

We always get one off the place.  I pay timber tax, might as well reduce our tax burden.

Because getting drunk, driving, & smashing into a school bus full of nuns is generally frowned upon in my AO...unfortunately....

Cost was $27
