How much did it cost?
I went to a Christmas tree lot today just to look - I haven't bought a "real" tree in over thirty-five years (I have a crummy fake tree). I thought, "what the heck, it's late in the season and I'll get a real tree this year" - Holy Crap the prices for a cut dead pine tree, it's not gonna happen! Now I'm thinking about just getting a potted pine that I can plant in my back yard in a few weeks.....

Nope.
But I did take the family up into the Hills and shot down a nice 7' blue spruce with two rounds of 12 gauge 2 3/4" BB though. Much faster than a saw. |

Yes. Free.
I cut xmas trees on sundays w a family friend. We charge $40 no matter the size. We cut and bail them. |

I cut mine for free about an hour ago. It's about halfway decorated already.

Yes me and the so went, she dropped 65 bucks on this big ass tree that is leaving shit all over the carpet, she says it smells so good?
anyway yea we have one and i will cook a hot dog on it when we burn it after new years. damn thing drinks as much water as our lazy fsa dogs. |

I have had one real tree that I didn't cut down. Tree lots are for suckers. We have a fake tree that we have used for years. Its not bad. Much easier, which is good since I don't care for Christmas.

I guess I just can't see paying almost half the price of a cord of wood for a single (soon-to-be-useless) dead pine tree.
Don't get me wrong - I love Christmas and real trees, but I just can't justify it financially.... I guess I'll just put up my "Charlie Brown" fake tree again tomorrow..

$27 for mine today. It was slim pickings at the place I went.

Nope- can't have a real tree in the house, due to two of us being allergic to pine

We live in the woods.
Even with the mark up at the general store (yup, we only have one store for everything in town) it was only $35 for a 10 footer. |

Just get a plastic one and spray some Pine Scent or Axe Body Spray and be done with it.

Yes, we buy a 14-16' Frazier Fur every year. Usually pay ~$300. One year we were able to find an 18'. It cost like $500. Wish we could get taller but, they are impossible to find locally. Our ceiling is 22' high.

$30-40 for a 7.5' Virginian Pine from the tree farm. I don't buy cut trees if I get a real one.
There's a seasonal tent by the loop in town that sells the same trees for $150+....

Cut this one myself at the local tree farm. The owner then shakes and bails it.

Yep, bought one a couple of weeks ago for 50 bucks.
The wife has had sinus problems and headaches ever since we brought it in the house. Serves her right...it was her idea to get a real tree. |

We ended up getting a fake tree this year for $150
looks real. Not one of those cheap looking ones. Wife wanted a real tree. But she doesn't have to mess with the fucking needles in the carpet when we tear it down.

Depends. If I buy versus cut, I usually spend $100 -150. I like big (7' or so), bushy noble firs, so no surprise on the cost.

Dang! Well, I'm single and live alone - I suppose if I had a family I would easily spend that to make a family Christmas tradition and memory. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Yes - $70. We cut our own, kids love it. We've been doing it since they were babies. This year it was $75 Couple more years, youngest will be out of the house, I'll miss it then |

my daughter turns 4 on christmas this year. i think she is old enough to experience real trees. we went to walmart and bought one for $29.
growing up, my family always bought a real tree; i just want to continue the tradition with my daughter. |

I prefer fake. Less muss, less fuss, less likely to burn the house down. Put it up early, take it down late if you want. You can buy a fresh pine wreath if you just need to have that pine scent.

We always get one off the place. I pay timber tax, might as well reduce our tax burden.

$35 for any size or type at a local tree farm. Wife picked a Douglas Fir. It is nice.

yeah but only for the cats since theyve never seen a real tree up close. My kitten ran up it a few times it was fun for her, more entertaining than the TV.
Cost was $27 |
