I live near Tampa and am not into the salami most restaurants put on their Cubans around here. A friend and I are driving to Miami next week with two coolers; one for cuban sandwiches and the other cooler for chicken and yellow rice, crab rolls, black beans, and other items we may find.

We have many orders to fill because many of our friends want us to bring some of that goodness back home. I have been to Miami only once when we were kids so I know nothing about the city. Are there many decent mom and pop joints in Little Havana? Lesser known places for a large order for takeout for about twenty guys? We don't care about the cost of the food. This is a one day trip leaving next Saturday morning and returning that afternoon.

Any thoughts and advice would be welcome. If you have sandwich pics from from Miami we would love to see 'em.

I would imagine Versailles on 8th street would be a good place to start.

if nothing else get yourself going with a Cortadito or Cuban coffee.

If we could fly there I'd be on the first plane out. For now, Miami will have to do.

News flash. To the uninitiated
Puertorican and Cuban food is not spicy or heavily seasoned
And Miami I does offer plenty of variety

As a general rule, food in Cuba is pretty bad. Miami Cuban food is amazing.

Tropical Restaurant in Hialeah on east 9th st. Is probably one of the best at making Cuban or Media Noche Sandwiches.

The meat needs to be un-refrigerated for the last 36 hours as well.

I had enough foreplay at this point so I gave her the old cuban sandwich to really kick it up a notch

Sounds plausible

Get some Croqueta Preparada instead. It's a Cuban sandwich with ham croquetas.

La Carreta, Casavana or Sergio's are all good places to get some good Cuban food. Versailles is overrated in my opinion.
