1.55pm: UP to eight young children are believed to have been stabbed to death by a woman in suburban Cairns. Police in the far north Queensland city are at the scene of the house in Manoora, close to the city centre. A police source has told The Australian the woman has stabbed the children and then herself in a suicide attempt, leaving her unconscious and in hospital. Queensland Police Media would not confirm the number of children dead. The Australian has been told eight children have died, but there are reports it is seven. Detectives are describing the scene as horrific, like something out of a horror movie. They are establishing a major incident room in the Cairns police headquarters. Officers are swarming the scene. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/cairns-eight-children-found-dead-at-property/story-e6frg6nf-1227161846144?nk=6daf5072cea991c1ce2a9bbedb69d7c2 |

The other day on another forum, some stupid Aussie guy was telling me that their gun laws made sure to prevent another port Arthur incident..
I told him how naive he was, and that it was simply a matter of time and that the danger comes not from the mean used, but the will to kill... I feel bad to have been proven right only a few days later |
|
How the fuck can anyone do anything like that to a kid. I hope that bitch rots in hell. |

Site wont open correctly or at all.
Too much traffic. I wonder why? |

Sad. RIP and prayers for the innocent.
Wonder when the "we have to do something!" crowd down there will start getting worked up over this one? |

I've read 4 article on this now and not one mention of who the stabber was.

I've been to Cairns a couple of times. If I couldn't live in the USA it would be near the top of my list. Nice little low rise city with a harbor and the Great Barrier Reef and great beaches close by. Lots of nature just outside the town. Good rum.
Too bad it will be known for this. |

Crazy isn't new or innovative.
Shame that the Aussies are having such a shitty week. Edit: Oh, FFS. Just noticed OP's avatar. |

Possibly an aboriginal family.
Brother found them. He's 20. No other info right now.

damn.
thats fucked up. Moms are always under stress. Some snap. Another reason a 2 parent household is so important. Maybe with a dad there she could have gone for a walk or a weekend away from the kids. I know my wife needs those occassionaly. |
|
My mom said that she could see how parents snap and end up beating a child to death in a fit of rage
Dad said the prosecution wouldn't want him on a jury Mom would spank us occasionally but dad, never once laid a hand on us But sheesh, that's all kinds of |

Sounds like mom might be a victim too.
Cairns police say they have no formal suspects as they begin what will be an extensive investigation into the deaths of eight children in one of the worst single-family killings in Australia. The eight children range in age from 18 months to 15. The incident has shocked a nation still reeling from the deadly Sydney siege. The 34-year-old mother of at least seven of the children is in a stable condition in hospital with multiple stab wounds. View Quote The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, is receiving treatment for her injuries and is currently assisting police with their investigations. View Quote |

This woman killed more with her knife, by herself, than all rifle murders in Louisiana in 2013, which was the most murderous state in 2013. |
