I saved a bass one day that had a catfish caught in it's mouth.

Yup. I've found several largemouth bass like that while fishing

Yep I have seen that scenario before. I was fishing at Indian Valley reservoir, found a small bass mostly dead with a Crappie in its mouth that was a bit too big.!

I have seen something similar once.
I saw what I thought was a frog that was dead by a popular creek with what looked like a stick rammed down his throat. My first thought was how sick that was for someone to do. Upon further inspection it was a frog that had tried to eat a scorpion, and it had a hole in its forehead where the scorpion had stuck him. |

It could be a prophecy message serving as a warning
What do you suppose it could mean?

Yes, it actually happens with some frequency with certain fish, especially predatory ones. I had an aquarium and kept a largemouth bass and some perch in it. One day, the bass was dead and had most of a large perch that had lodged in his throat. Northern Pike are also famous for doing this. If you google, you'll find many examples of this. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/sites/default/files/public/article/images/featured/2013/04/1688296.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I caught a Bluefish once w/ rusty Gotcha lure in it's mouth. The funny thing is the lure I caught him w/ was a Gotcha lure also. At least they were different colors.

I found a Northern Pike dead once, on the shore that had a Walleye sticking out of its mouth, this typically happens when their stomach is larger than their brain and mouth.
My grandfather was reeling in a sunny one time, and just before it made it the boat a Northern Pike ate his sunny, so he got a 5lb Northern Pike out of the deal. |

No, the bass swam away but it was struggling. The catfish had stiffened its two pectoral fins as it was being swallowed.

I took a bluegill out of a largemouth bass a few months ago. They were both happy to be rid of each other.

Saw about a 5 inch red ball moving erratically on the surface of my local lake one time. When I got a better look it was a catfish that attempted to eat the red ball.

Northerns do this every once in a while. They'll also strike similar sized fish when you're reeling them in.
