We don't really want to do this in Kobane because we'd like the Kurds to move back into something besides rubble.

do that to what exactly? Do they have massive military installations? Or do you just propose bombing occupied cities ala WW2?
I say go for it but the public in this day and age isn't going to stand for it unless they do something like set off a nuke in NYC and make that shit really fucking personal. |

The most cost effective and probably the most effective way of taking them out is delivery in 12.7, 20 and 30mm packages. You just have to be willing to get close enough to do it.
