To make this short.  My wife's family is going to Disneyland in a couple weeks.  This just happens to be the day after our anniversary.  We though it might be nice to go out to eat somewhere in the Anaheim area that is not something we could eat at a typical chain restaurant we would normally go to.  Anyone have some ideas please share.

And yes I know this is GD

You will be so worn out after a day at the "Happiest place on earth" you won't be interested in fancy food.

Thanks for the Idea's.  The Disneyland trip is for the kids, as long as they enjoy it.  Just planning on Dinner with the wife.  Kids will be with grandma and their cousins.
All those places to eat that have been suggested look good.  Not sure about the Anaheim White House though.  Don't think the wife wants to bring a dress just for dinner one night.

The Canadian and Japanese Steakhouses at Epcot are good.  They are expensive if you aren't on a meal plan.  The earl of Sandich place at Downton Disney is good and not expensive.

You could probably get some authentic soul food down in Watts.

The BBQ at the Polynesian is good too.

Skip the restaurant and go straight to dessert in a motel room?

Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Anaheim. Pricey from what I remember, but well, well worth the coin. I'm sure you could afford it if your entire family is going to D-land, haha. Have fun.

The Ranch has been recommended to me before. Very near the park.

One of the best causal meals I've ever had was at The Playground, in downtown Santa Ana (15 min away)

You haven't visited Disneyland until you've eaten here. It's over by New Orleans square in Disneyland.

The Columbia Restaurant in Celebration. Trust me on this one. The original is in Tampa and it is spectacular upscale Spanish. My wife makes me take her to a Columbia, any time that we are in Florida.

Make a point to plan all of your meals. Seriously do not mess that up. Make reservations now. Look up reviews on TripAdvisor and set then up. You do not want to be stuck trying to find a place to eat  you will end up waiting for hours for horrible food that is way over priced.

Damnit!

I would head over to Huntington Beach and eat at Duke's on the pier.

There, I am a well traveled man. I can do both Disneys, if needed.

Don't bother with Duke's... Quality has taken a dive over the last couple years...

Felix Continental Cafe in old town Orange has excellent Cuban food. And it's closer to the Mouse Trap

Try a place called Felix's in old town Orange right on the traffic circle for excellent Cuban food or a place called "S" at Westminster Mall for really good highend Vietnamese with a French flair. For excellent seafoop, go straight west on Katella to The Fish Company in Los Alamitos. Damned good highend fish and worth the money.

I forgot to mention Rivers End on the west end of the beach at Seal Beach. Prett OK food with an outstanding on the sand location.

They are all within 15-25 minutes from the Tragic Kingdom.

No need for "adventure travel". There's a Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles right in downtown Long Beach. They make great waffles.
30 minutes west from Mickylandia.

There's one on South Harbor in Anaheim.

Looking at their menu, I wouldn't eat there.  They have an Obama special.

Roscoe's in OC!! Fucking heresy!

It is possible to enjoy a waffle without a side of politics you know.

Try Anaheim White House, make reservation ahead of time.
Not too far deom Disney, as a matter of fact, you can hear the firework going off while you two are having dinner.

Note
You will be parked pretty far from the park, so if you plan to eat outside of Disney, you are basically done with the park for the day.
