If this is for real, sounds like ATT's EAS system has been hacked. While a EAS unit may screw up in some way there are to many coincidence's here to believe it to be a system failure.
EAS, Emergency Alert System. it's the same system that gives weather alerts and is designed to give the president access to the general public on all channels and stations, TV and radio IN AND EMERGENCY. |

There have been frequent "tests" of the EAS in my AO. Used to be monthly at about 3:45 AM, but there's been 3 in the past three days. They last longer and are formatted slightly differently. The test yesterday was a green bar accross the top of my screen telling me there was another test being conducted... Given the unique format and that it was at 3:00, I thought it was time to FO...
It would seem that an announcement is forthcoming. |
