I saw it turn on final as I was driving.  Ran over to the general aviation parking area in time to see where it was taxing to and was rewarded with an up close look. This is definitely a rare bird.

Was at KDCA a few weeks ago.  It's equipped with ADS-B and I was able to track it into DC.

If you were Sylvan you wouldn't have been allowed within 300 yds.

Sylvan's wet dream?

Edit: Cheap CAS platform

Thirty years ago, we would have been discussing the F-20 tigershark.  F-5, modernized, weaponized, and equipped with one F-16 engine.   But Jimmy Carter killed it because the USAF wanted to lower the cost of procuring the F-16 by having many allied nations (that were already flying F-5s) buy F-16s and thereby lower the per-unit-cost of the F-16.

But this Scorpion is completely COTS and privately developed.  Hence....no ten year R&D program needed.

I always thought the Dragonfly was a neat little CAS aircraft.

Cessna was appropriate technology for many of our third world allies, but those things are older than I am, and are literally falling out of the sky.

Cessna is doing some hiring right now and will be doing some more in January if any systems, structures, or electrical guys are looking.
