I'll mention a name no one else has: Pavlov wolf. I'm full of it sometimes, but I have no illusion and have many times stated, that there are many multitudes of people on this board that are wiser in general, more knowledgeable in detail on nearly every subject, more worldly, and way, way more accomplished. I'll be honest, it was your "providing overwatch for deals in another life" comedy bit that put you over the line from "normal GD type" to "wtf is with this dude" for me. Coupled with your proclivity for talking about sexual exploits, you fit the general pattern she was describing in the OP. The thing is, everything I've said about what's happened in my life is true, and there is a member here who has been my best friend for 40 years that has been in the middle of, witness to, or the instigator in nearly all of it. He's had as much weird stuff happen to him, some my fault as I have. We were talking the other day about some things that happened to us, and came to the conclusion that an 80s style movie could be made, but that only John Hughes could direct it, and that it would have to be labeled fiction even though 100% true. There's always that one guy in every generation, and in every town that has that kind of life, and for whatever reason ( much of it stupidity ), there were two in our town. As for the sexual conquests, it is what it is, or was, and honestly, I'm trying to get past all that in real life, which I have long ago, and in my persona here. In real life it cost me the love of the most wonderful soul mate, wife, mother, everything that a guy could ask for, and it's effects on my son and her are still visible. Honestly, though it seems sort of a girly reason, all of those conquests were not conquests, so much as me looking for love, or something that I thought it would bring. Some were just encounters and fun, but there was also an addiction problem, just like alcohol or drugs. Just an urge I couldn't control. In real life, I've been over that for years, and the thing I want most, or at least in that respect, companionship seems to forever elude me now, and with my health, I don't know that it won't continue to do so. The second marriage was a sham, with the ex wife being exactly what I was to my first wife. The over watch stuff was true on the gun sales. The part about prior life in that story that I don't want to detail, would violate CoC, as it was not looked upon favorably by state statutes. It was something, a lifestyle that I got into as a 16yr old, and did til I was mid 17s. Not long, but just started by being at parties attended by people that were older and manipulative of a young mind, seeing rewards of easy women, money, adventure etc. Beenie Babies were really big at the time, and could be dangerous. Mods , if what I said violates anything, please IM me and I will delete it. None of what I've done above or had happen is remarkable, happens all the time to lots of people. |

Oh. What I get for not being allowed to hang out at the cool kids' table. View Quote One of my other real life friends (BustinCaps) earned himself an account lock after busting my balls. I IM'd whoever locked him and let them know that we were good friends and that it was ball busting (I acknowledged that there's no way a staff member could have known that, contextually). He was immediately unlocked, and that was that. It has to be difficult to moderate sometimes, because it's not always possible to know the difference between personal attacks and two close friends fucking with each other. |

I get a kick out of reading the posts of most of the members named here. I just don't take GD too seriously.
There are a few that I used to see post on topics - Ridgerunner, Madcap and Bohr_Adam, and a couple others that I first thought "that guy is full of crap" or "ohhh, internet cool guy who wants to seem knowledgeable" Then I realized they really do know a shitload about a shitload of different shit and can articulate that shit quite well. Also seem to be genuinely good guys. When they post, I pay attention. Swingset, I find pretty hilarious. A few others who have been named, I just dismissed at first. But, I don't use the ignore button. So, I see later posts and it can change my opinion. Most of those who I think are douche bags end up getting banned. I will agree with one nomination in this thread - FedDC. |

That being said, there are actual welders that dive, then crawl into a dry habitat and do structural repair work on rigs. If he did something like that and was seriously hot shit I could see him making 250k a year. Or if he does like Saturation diving, and uses the term underwater welder kind of like how people use clip to mean magazine, there's that too. would need more info. If he's under 27-30, I'd be skeptical. About 1/3 of the Divers I worked with were prior service, for commercial diving in the states there's about 3 big tech schools and 2-3 smaller ones that do certifications. |
