It seems like a larger portion of the populations is allergic to cats vs dogs, this trait is passed on by those with superior genetics who's body understands the threat that cats are to humans. You may think your cats are adorable but my immune system tells me otherwise, in fact it tells me that I have 5 mins to get away from a cat/ anything a cat touches till it will force me out

Article is BS. Just this very morning my cat tried to save me from
Nautious gases. Around 3:30 am this morning my cat jumped on my bed and tapped Me on my arm and when that didn't work he pushed on my nearly full Bladder several times. (Usually a signal he wants to go out). Of course being 3:30am I didn't want to get up so the cat went to his last resort, The litter box and released a poo so foul......well you know....I just had to get up and spray air freshness and kitty got to go out. At least he tried to save me, right? |

We've had a couple barn cats and they were ok. I was raised hearing that if you died in the house and no found you right off a dog would lay down and die next to you. Cats, I've been told, had been known to eat the corpse once they got hungry. Not sure if it's true but I can see how folks would think that.

Cats are aloof, independent, clever, and self-centered -- in short, they have stereotypically feminine attributes. Men who despise cats are, deep down inside, intimidated by females. I'm sorry you doubt your own manhood so much that you find it necessary to kill a wandering cat. Oh, and shitting in your flowers? Pretty decent read, made me glad I don't own cats. This was the most alarming thing: "When parasites found in cat litter infect humans, they seem to subtly change personality over time" So the crazy cat lady wasn't always crazy? "experiments have found that dogs demonstrate an attachment with their owner — compared to a stranger, the dogs become more disturbed when their owners leave, and interact with them more when they return.By contrast, Mills' cat experiments — which are still ongoing and haven't yet been published, but were featured in a BBC special last year — haven't come to the same conclusion. On the whole, the cats seem disinterested both when their owners depart and return." Here is a pic of the parasite that drives the owners crazy http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/suLXiagq3ab8wWHOvCMfioujYXs=/800x0/filters:no_upscale()/cdn3.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/2361010/1280px-Toxoplasma_gondii_tissue_cyst_in_mouse_brain.0.jpg http://www.vox.com/2014/10/16/6982177/the-case-against-owning-cats View Quote That parasite must be as big as a clay pigeon. I have one friend who has cats and when he goes to my buddies house where we meet up to drink my buddies wife makes him lint roller himself at the door because their kid has cat allergies lol. My god son is extremely allergic to cats and I have a mild cat allergy as well so I can never have them since I host family parties on holidays at my house. I've never wanted one though myself I originally got my first dog to protect my house so a cat was WAYYY out of the question but I see the allure for people that live in small places with no backyards. What kind of selection pressures are going to result in cat allergies being a favorable trait for humans to posses? Keep in mind that the symptoms of toxoplasmosis are usually subclinical and rarely fatal. |

I don't read in the local paper where a 1 year old baby had to have facial reconstruction because of a cat. Dogs are loyal until they bite, then they are "just playing" |
|
My parents had a cat that would take walks with them.
We had a cat that would play fetch with a bow from a present. At 2:00 in the morning. It would jump up on the bed and drop it on us. We'd throw it, and she'd go pick it back up and drop it on one of us. The one cat that adopted me used to come when I called his name. Well, until he was really old and went stone deaf. I've had two cats that would know when I was coming home from work and would run downstairs a few minutes before I pulled into the driveway. Spooky, that. I lost a really cool cat last year. Some of you may remember this thread about Myuo Anyone who says that cats are indifferent towards their owners does not know anything about cats. They all have distinct "personalities" and the way you train and interact with them will largely determine how they treat you. |
