What happened to the manufacturers agreeing on publishing 189mph as the top speed of their bikes (even when it was clear they were 200+ machines) Does that only apply to street bikes? View Quote Yes, the gentlemens agreement to limit top speed to 300kph/186mph started in 01, but it only applies to street legal bikes. A closed circuit bike has no such limitation. It is also a real electronic limiter, not just a published top speed. The current Hayabusa and ZX14 can have the limiter removed to push speeds a lil bit higher. Basically with this limitation in place, the race is how fast can you get to your top speed. |

btw... the power to weight ratio is somewhere near 1500hp per ton

The H2R is a thing of dreams - and race teams only. The H2 will be a bit more tame. I've been hearing "only" 200 hp, but I bet it will be easy to mod it into the race bike numbers. I wonder if the H2 will lose all the carbon fiber and go for cheaper plastics?

Sweet bike but I'd be happy with a Honda blackbird, it would look sweet next to my vfr

I want the engine out of the first wrecked one so I can build a Locost 7 around it.

Not street legal. Hardly anyone else read that far. I'm not saying its legal.... But if you have the money to buy it.... Buy it and buy a busted newish Kawi liter bike for title, registration, and tag. I have been pulled over a few times and the cop never checked the VIN... Rig up a tag bracket and lights and rock out... Plus if you pull over/crash/get caught breaking the law on that bike going anywhere near its top speed having the "wrong" tag on the bike is the least of your concerns... Just saying . |

yes it is absolutely nuts. I had an R1. That had 1/2 the HP that this thing has. It was scary fast. No way in hell I'd throw a leg over that thing, track or otherwise. Ever. Period. I know my limits, and this thing is way past the limits of 99.999% of anyone who has ever put their ass on a bike. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It was a modest ride that wasn't scary at all. Yes I rode it hard and took it to the track and had no chicken strips. If the bike had another 50hp maybe it would have been a little scary but stock? I felt like home on that bike. I would totally ride that Kawi, even though it's a kawi lol. I sure as hell wouldn't pay for it but I'd ride it. |

I've been thinking of getting a Honda 70, maybe a 90 if I feel like pushing the limits of speed.

Meh, this one is 500hp: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/54/Dodge_Tomahawk.jpg Dodge Tomahawk. So whats keeping it from being street legal......turn signals, head light, street tires.....easy fixes.
EDIT: yeah, I would ride it. |

They say it was made "to offer the kind of acceleration most riders had never experienced." 300?!?! Holy shit. I'm nervous about taking my Harley Sportster up to 100hp.

It might be fun to try it around town, and lean on the throttle in a straight line. I'd need a governor on one to limit the rpms to 1000.

I can't see how this bike could keep traction. My busa will break loose if you're not careful and it doesn't have anything close to that HP. It will raise the hair on your neck though. I can only imagine what that beast would feel like
