Anyone happen to have a 7.5 , 8.5 and a 10.5 upper they can lay out and take pics of for size comparisons?

This will prolly do double roles of HD, but mostly range toy.

My stamp should be here pretty soon, and just cannot decide on which upper.
Don't have any immediate plans for a 30cal can at the moment, however didn't envision SBR either so prolly will be coming.

Go with the 10.5, I have one and it is very handy indoors and has much better ballistics than a 7 incher.

This.

I think I'm about $600 in on mine. Look similar.

That looks a hell of a lot like my 7.5" pistol.

I never really cared about AR pistols until I saw these two.

It's very close to what you can build on your own for that price if you impulse buy, but without the aggravation of doing it yourself.

You can certainly build one for even less if you are smarter with your money than I was

From Midway in 2012

7.5" AR Stoner barrel $109.99

YHM lo-pro gas block $22.99

DPMS gas tube & pin $14.98

DPMS slick upper $86.99

YHM lightweight quad rail $94.99

From EE

Used pistol buffer tube assy & plate $45.00

From FFL

STAG lower, stripped $75.00

Lower parts kit $40.00

Vltor flash hider  $45.00

From Amazon

EZ-pull takedown pin $19.95

Total $549.89

600$ for that seems high.

I built one in 5.56 with the cheapest parts I could get. Used upper, PSA pistol lower build kit, and a non anodized anderson lower I got for 25 dollars. I still ended up at $660

Anderson upper and lower 85$

DD  chf barrel 175$

Stag lpk 40$

Psa rail 100$

Kx5 100$

Brace and tube 150$

Magpul mbus and grip 75$

Eotech 512 400$

Bcm bcg and ch 160$

Yeah, I guess your right..

But I would probably keep my bcg and eotech.

I'd buy one if I could.

OK what about the BCG? and a charging handle

They count toward the build cost too, even if you had them

Not bad, I've got a little more than that in mine with the rail and the pig.

7.5 has been flawlessly reliable so far. Get a linear comp like the Levang or pig, these fuckers are LOUD.

I THINK that the 7.5" would do okay with a 55 gr V-Max but I haven't tested it out yet.  Mine is currently a fun/range gun.  If I ever get the chance to take some hogs though, I might try out that combo just to see how it does.

I took it out this evening while I was dove hunting to just do a "make sure it shoots" test run.  I ran 90 rounds of 55gr Federal .223 through it in fairly rapid succession.  About 10 rounds into both the first and second mag, I had one shell get caught upon ejection.  The new shell had been loaded and was in the chamber but the spent casing got caught for whatever reason upon eject.  A half a second to clear and it shot fine for the rest of the mag.  The last 30 shot mag ran flawless.

I shot it straight from the factory.  I didn't lube it or anything like that.  I'm sure it's dry as hell but I wanted to see what it would do

It's freaking loud and the muzzle flash is impressive if you like that sort of thing.  It does feel like a baby gun compared to my AR-10 as this is my first AR-15.

I think I'm at about $575 into it right now. I still want to add a sig brace and a noveske kx3 too.

These $600 complete pistols look good for the cost too, but building one from scratch is also a lot of fun and you don't have to drop all of the money all at once.
