Updated my 4s. My phone is now a brick. It just crashed at the iCloud setup screen regardless of whether I enter the password or skip. Surprise surprise... MUHAHAHAHA I downgraded back to 7.1.2 and was able to restore my phone. All is well now. |

Working just fine here for the most part, but noticed that data usage increased significantly. It turned out that the new backup and document file sharing features were sending data up to iCloud. Turning off iCloud cellular access cut that down.

I am contemplating switching over to the Chrome browser
arfcom seems better but text editing is wack

Upgraded my 4S.
Enjoy the new features, but it really is too much for the old phone, it's noticeably slower. Not too worried tho, the 6 will be here soon |
|
No probs yet on retina mini. Like the updates , especially the voice dictation seems way better
|

Up and running.
The self-hiding toolbar in Safari pisses me off... |

Glad my iphone 6 arrives today. No need to mess with that download shit.
|

I updated my ipad and my iphone 5 last night.
Can't say I see too much of a difference as usual. The revamped Safari will take some getting used to (mostly the change in location and function of the bookmarks button)... I might just download chome and try that for a change. |

Text editing does suck. The window shows up in all sorts of weird places...

Trying to update my 4.
Ok, update iTunes first. Great. Now gotta wait for windows to re-install drivers for the phone, typical but whatever. Get into the backup area (because I'm not stupid) and it wants me to re-authorize? WTF, I use only one install of iTunes and this is it. Threatens to delete 18 apps off my phone if I don't. Ok, whatever, enter password to authorize. iTunes store is apparently kicking me out, or it's just outright down. It doesn't look like it's going to offer 8 for my phone either. Don't know yet, because I can't do anything until they fix their shit. Hey Apple, I hear amazon.com has some great cloud server service that you could use to you know, fix your shit.

Quoted: I haven't seen any good meltdown posts yet. Couldn't this update have changed the shape of the icons or some other highly visible, but inconsequential thing? Kinda disappointed. View Quote Downloaded IOS8 a couple days ago on my iPad and iPhone.. About a third of the home screen icons on the iPad look like TV test patterns.. I've rebooted several times, but they're still there. It is also clear that my iPad is running much more slowly and with minor glitches I've not seen before. I'm not tech savvy, so I'll take it to the Apple Store here in Dismal Seepage.

If you have a wifi-only ipad and an iphone (like me), this update is big.
Now with your wifi-only ipad, you can txt anyone (not just imessage people), do facetime and answer calls. It links up with your iphone and your iphone acts as a "modem" of sorts for your ipad. |

Pretty much to big for a 16 gig phone, because I don't have much stuff on mine. That's because you're updating OTA on the phone. Use iTunes and you don't need all that room. If you update via the phone, it has to download the image (close to 2G) and then unpack it for the install (usually double). iTunes will do that on your PC and just jam the iOS8 image down the wire. |

Can anyone post links in iOS 8? In my iPad, when I click the link button I get the dialog, but the keyboard doesn't activate. All I can do is click cancel or okay.

Hmmm, data usage is still significantly higher so I disabled some more of the location service features since Mapping Services activity seems to be high.

I'm really enjoying what I hope is a universal side effect of iOS 8: No more failure to view embedded videos.
It was about 50/50 with iOS 7. |

Im not really liking it on ipad 3. Safari is awkward and kindle crashes the first time its opened.

8.0.1 is out.
Addresses issues I haven't experienced. Also apparently caused a few of its own. |

The 4S is as far back as is supported by iOS8, IIRC.

Swiftkey on iOS continues to suck. Add period after double space still doesn't work. Along with the dark color option, that's all I needed out of that keyboard.
Bah! |
|
|
What? I have to let them access every keystroke just to utilize the fricken add period feature?
Fuck that. |
