Not bad, the parade hasn't even started yet and they're already up to several shootings and one dead during last night's J'ouvert gatherings. Last year's parade had two dead, I think they can do better this year.
LINK NEW YORK – Several shootings have been reported near the route of New York City's West Indian Day Parade just hours before its start.
The New York Police Department says a 55-year-old man was shot and killed at 3:30 a.m. Monday in Brooklyn's Crown Heights. A suspect is in custody. Police say they're still gathering information about other shootings in the vicinity. The parade has been scarred in recent years by violence nearby. View Quote Rookie cop from my pct. got fucked up by a float, shattered his leg. Pretty sure they dragged it out long enough for him to reach top pay before giving him 3/4s. I got lucky and only had to work the detail 4 times in 18 years IIRC even though I was from Bklyn. North, was never even near the parade route either. |

Have you guys heard about the cop shot in the leg Saturday night in the 79? Running gun battle with 79 crime. One officer grazed in the leg and perp shot up good...... Not good enough though......

Years ago I did some big jobs on Labor Day weekend and had to drive around the parade route and seen all the cops hiding in building doorways trying to be invisible. Most looked scared shit less.

Big fail unless all of the shitheads are dead. Hard to sort them out, so just shoot them all and let their respective gods do the sorting.

Had a post a few blocks off the parade route with some guys from the Bronx. Crazy day, but none of the nonsense came near us, so we were happy. |

Wellll.....You just never know when a shit may be given.... You know like when NYC persecutes a free-stater on a bogus gun charge or blows away tourists in a hail of gunfire but misses the perp.....You know, that kind of thing. And by God if I'm going to click on a NYC thread you can believe the post count is going to go up too. |

Never heard of J'ouvert until last night. Cop I talked to in Queens told me things were crazy, that was around 8pm.
Glad I don't have to deal with the aftermath of any of those gatherings. |

One out of action for good, one removed from the street at least for a while.
Sounds like a good start. |

The West Indians want a separate category for themselves on the Census forms.
Goodbye melting pot, hello continuing balkinization. |

Just to clarify, we're talking about Jamaicans here, right?
If so, then this is not surprising. From what I understand Kingston is a war zone. |

I bet there's some good jerk chicken carts around though.
Come for the gunplay, stay for the gastronomic delights. |

Why is this mess even allowed to continue? Yeah I know, cancelling it would be racist or something. |

So, doing some google image research, it appears this is a big parade where people cover themselves in colored goop and powder and scantily-clad large women dry-hump the shit out of anything that moves?
Or am I missing something? |

Yea, I had to use Bing to get images of it. All I can say is that I wouldn't want to be within 500 miles of that shit. It looks like a 3rd world shit hole! Anything else I could possibly say would be non COC. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

West Indian Day??????? Yea, I had to use Bing to get images of it. All I can say is that I wouldn't want to be within 500 miles of that shit. It looks like a 3rd world shit hole! Anything else I could possibly say would be non COC. I found a video of some of the participants. I'd be lifetime banned for even posting a cold link. Not to mention also sued by anyone who went there for the cost of their eye bleach and vision restoration therapy. I have never seen "native women in grass skirts" that looked so much like elephants walking through tall grass as in that video clip. Imagine the good things you've seen about Carnivale down in Brazil and then think overweight and cellulite. |

It's the same in every big city with similar events. Use to happen every summer in Toronto for crap sakes.
