They're fucking magic. While moving something very heavy with a pallet jack recently on my VCT floor in my shop, I caused black wheel marks on my floor that would not come up by mopping, scrubbing, using Swiffer wets...nothing. My wife suggested a Magic Eraser, and sure as shit, came up...like magic. I have no idea what kind of wizardry they are made with, but it works. Since this is GD, and we rarely talk about guns in GD, I figured I should pass on my newly acquired knowledge of Magic Erasers.

I usem all the time for all kinds of stuff. They work awesome at cleaning the sides of my running shoes before I throw em in the washer. Come out looking brand new.

I buy fake ones from dollar tree all the time still work great

The auto body industry has used them for decades to remove over spray. You can buy them in bulk, and in much larger pieces from auto body supply outfits. That's how I've always done it anyway.

I too have recently discovered the power of these. We have a 4-piece knockdown fiberglass shower in the master bathroom that is hard to clean, no matter what is used.
Same for the shower doors. Worked like magic. |

They are definitely magic.
OP, you married above your pay grade. |

Don't use them on a dark car to remove smudges. They will leave a haze. You know how I know?

Good at removing grunge from old firearms too (Just to keep it in line with a gun forum)

Just used one this morning. They're fantastic for removing a soap film from a tub. |

Cleans my house siding with ease, even stuff the pressure washer can't remove.

Back when my twins were toddlers, I went through many Magic Erasers getting crayon marks off the walls/furniture. If not for those things, the interior of house would look like a freaking modern art gallery.

[#26]
OP do you have a twin brother out here on WA?
You look like a guy I know, BTW you married up. For your question, that is not my department, but I have been ordered to buy some for the Mrs. |

Ahh... I was just out doing some yardwork and realized the door hardware on the south side is discolored. I didn't want to use a harsh abrasive, so thanks for the reminder!

I wonder if a plug or wad of this Melamine foam would be useful for cleaning a badly fouled bore?

See, GD does have the power to figure out all things, and bring them back around to guns at some point when we put our minds to it. Seriously though, great question. |

I kissed a pole one time with my truck and had a bit of blue paint transfer from the pole on the front bumper. I tried scrubbing the hell out of it but it wouldn't come off. I was scared to use anything more potent as I didn't want to damage the paint on my truck.
A buddy of mine suggesting using a magic eraser on it. I gave him the "how the hell is a household cleaning product going to get a scuff mark off my bumper". Well I figured it was worth a shot, and wuddya know, it came off in a matter of minutes. I agree OP, they are fucking magic. |
