It really depends on the show otherwise it's like comparing apples and oranges.
Some series have 10 20 minute episodes in a season. Others have 24+ 45 minute episodes in a season. 3 1/2 hours of tv in a day is nothing. 18 hours, well, that would take more of commitment. |

BB was the only show I've ever watched that lasted at least 5 seasons and got better each season. That last season was the best season of television I have ever watched. Probably would explain why the show won pretty much every major Emmy category earlier this week. |

gosh dang Dexter. Every season we get the DVD set and watch it in one long marathon day. It's like crack.....

Sure, just not an hour drama with 20+ episodes per season. Usually British 1/2 hour comedies with < 10 eps per season. Just finished Black Books. It was great.

Each season is about 9 hours long and it's the best drama on tv right now so it's pretty addicting. Yes it is easy to watch a complete year of the survivor man in one day using a Roku for Web Video feeds. Like Netflix etc. I tried lots of other web video devices even ones built into blueray players etc. But this Roku unit is way cool. It is also amazing on vacations, no more renting movies in the motel rooms, just hook up my Roku to their TV set, then put in the Motel WIFI name & password. Then I have everything on the web.

How many hours is that? 12? More?
Must be nice to live a life of leisure. |

OP, how did you watch Sons of Anarchy season six? Unfortunately for me, Netflix only has 1-5

Maybe you aren't familiar with this forum, just trying to help. Back on topic, yes I have watched entire seasons in a day. The first couple seasons of Breaking Bad, Strike Back, Rome, Deadwood, and a few more I can't think of right now. ETA - beaten by other haters of the huge blue font. Bastages... |

Firefly, lots of Brit shows (they typically have a lot less episodes per season than US shows).
I've done a Lord of the Rings marathon (with the 4 to 4.5 hour each extended editions). That was as exhausting as sitting on my butt can be. |

I worked from home for a few years and there were times when I didn't have shit to do for days on end. So, yes.
Rescue Me Entourage Burn Notice SOA Firefly And in one particularly slow month I watched all 10 seasons of SG-1 and five seasons of Atlantis and all the movies.

funny you should ask this--'true blood' is on amazon prime, and on a whim, i watched the first episode last night. just finished season 1 about 10 minutes ago.
a binge like this is what got me started on series TV, which i used to make fun of my brother for watching. came home after work one night, and my brother was watching season 1 of 'lost' on DVD. i laughed, but he said "watch the first episode, and if you don't like it i swear i won't watch it while you're home". so we watched the pilot, and then proceeded to devour the first 2 seasons--48 episodes--in the next 4 days. yeah...i watch TV shows now. edit: another--watched all of firefly, including serenity, in one sitting. |

If I start something (book, series, whatever) I have to finish it as soon as possible. Seasons in one day? There's a Crowded House joke in there somewhere, but recently it would be Firefly (of course, and more than once), Sherlock (quite easy with only a few episodes per series), and Castle (guilty pleasure, despite being horrendously formulaic and cheesy). I also read 20-years worth of Constantine in one sitting. My eyes still twitch a bit over that one. |
