I don't think even he believes that, if fact many speculate the Dallas defense is going to set records for the most yardage given up, perhaps even become statistically the worst all time NFL defense.

Not even a little. As much as the Cowboys might have sucked the past 15 years they still have 5 Super Bowl wins and 8 Super Bowl appearances.

The Lions have ZERO Super Bowl wins and ZERO Super Bowl appearances.

Hell, the only non-expansion team that can share in that level of misery is the Cleveland Browns.

This is the record I am predicting as well. Too much talent on offense to go winless, their offense will keep them in most games. Almost no talent on defense means the days of finishing 8-8 are over for awhile.

And you know what? As long as AT&T stadium is full every game Jones will not give a fuck.

You have proven my point. Thanks Einstein. You don't own the team yet you buy into the idea you have some imaginary stake in it. Sports accolades mean nothing. It's a business. Jerry Jones makes bad personnal decisions but big deal the suckers keep coming.  Marketing genius. He knows all he has to is deliver a maginal product and the bucks will keep coming.

The stats say otherwise.  Romo's 4th quarter/clutch stats are some of the best in history.  But bad news sells in the NFL, like it does everywhere else.  Failures are remembered more than successes.

Mind you, I am a football fan, not just of the Cowboys, but I enjoy the sport.  I hate the interception statistic.  To me its one of those stats that is both fact and fiction.  Receivers running a sloppy or incorrect route on a timing play, "Why did he throw it there?".  Receivers tip or muff the ball, "Why did he throw it too high?", or "Why did he throw so hard?".  I believe interceptions are pretty close to 50/50 as to whose fault it really belongs to, but the only member of the offense to have interception on their stat line is the QB.

If you have watched enough Dallas Cowboys football over the last 5 years then you'll know what I mean.  Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin forgot how to catch a football.  Dez Bryant couldnt run a sharp route.   Even Jason Witten over the last two seasons has been sloppy.  Couple all of that with the fact that Garrett is scared to live by the run.

This franchise needs a face lift the size of Jerry's (or as we call him, Jerruh).  It wont get it.  With the way Stephen acts, it may not get better when Jerruh walks away, or dies.

you almost certainly blew your money.  take last year's defense--one of the worst in NFL history--and remove the 3 best players.  here is the starting defense that DAL hopes to field:

DE: missed all of last season due to knee surgery.  has not participated in preseason.

DT: missed entire preseason due to injury.

DT: missed the majority of last season due to injury.  has occasionally practiced in preseason.

DE: a street free agent who was out of the league when dallas called last season.  currently not practicing due to injury.

SLB: physically talented guy who looked lost last season.

MLB: was out of the NFL last season.  currently injured.

WLB: journeyman

CB:  missed almost all of preseason due to his mother's death.

SS:  UDFA who missed most of the 2012 season due to injury.

FS:  former college RB who has played the position for 2 years.  missed 6 games last year due to injury.

CB:  in 3 preseasons, has never played a preseason game...due to chronic injuries.  has missed 10+ games in 2 seasons due to a variety of injuries.

key reserves:

DT: missed all of last season due to injury.

DE:  rookie 2nd rounder who will miss the 1st 8 games due to injury (IR/return)

MLB:  rookie 4th rounder

CB:  suspended for 4 games due to a positive drug test.

basically, it will take an offensive miracle even to reach the playoffs.  but just like last year, romo will find a way to keep them competitive.
