The guy wearing the camera, he had what looked like an M16A4 with a ELCAN.
I thought the Army was all M4s' now? |
|

WOW. At least he remembered to turn on his cam to record everything. |
|
That looked like some SWFA Super Sniper variable scope on his rifle.

Sloppy tactics. View Quote Every time I see you post... ETA: Now that I've watched the video all the way through. What do you think they did wrong? They communicated well, for the most part. They were mobile. They laid down effective fields of fire. They remained in cover. Everything seemed to be done well. |

Is that the famous outlaw platoon of the 10th Mounain Division?

There's precious few videos I've ever seen of actually watching a guy get shot. They are mostly just like this. One guy seems to indicate that he shot one in this video, but that's about it. |

100 internet points to whoever can identify the optic. I spend all morning trying to ID it and couldn't. Know I've seen it before though...

I'd like to hear our expert dissect their tactics. Is he coming back to this thread?

I'm guessing the rifle was some sort of DMR. Buttstock and scope were not the normal Acog and M4 stuff from what I could tell.
Either way outcome is fucking fantastic. 3 dead baddies and all of ours come home safe. And yes...."Fuck that guy!" |

Optic as stated before looks like a SWFA super sniper variable.

Not sure what you ever heard about them in the first place, but they have had many supporters and a great deal of resources available to them for some time. We've had them on the move and decreased their membership to be sure, but they have not been dissolved. In many places like Kashmir and rural Pakistan, they provide what are considered social services by their supporters (when they're not busy blowing up TV stations and chopping off heads in the town square to make examples of people who have committed offenses which go against their teachings). They collect a lot of money for the work they do keeping roads opened for goods that get moved through various regions and free of robbers and such. In my opinion, they are a sinister and murderous bunch with a leadership that is bent on executing ever-increasingly bad deeds in order to coerce others through fear and strongarm tactics. Look up Lashkar-e-Taiba and you'll see that they're quite intact and have a clear mission in mind. They are only one faction of the Taliban which, if you weren't already aware, is a faith-based organization whose purpose is to kill you or convert you. ETA: We have a special program that involves using drones and posting the names of their dead for all to see, so what goes around and all that... Still, it's just a drop in the bucket. |

Their still here

Looks like this..... http://www.policemag.com/_Images/articles/M-Optics-Nightforce.jpg Not even close the exit size on that scope is wayyyy larger than the 1-4 you just posted. Look at 2:39. At least a 40mm objective. And I'm going to agree its a SS of some sort considering the grooved magnification adjustment looks like SS. |
