which is the reason glock melts fast since heat stays local

by the way, how fast 1911 heats up depends mostly on heat capacity of steel, not heat conductivity

Btw speaking of 1911's why is it the older ones are prone to cracking with use?

If i do anything other than metal it is 180 degrees for double the time. Cures whatever finish I am using and does not melt the polymer.

Yes.  Because a 250 degree oven simulates a real world scenario.

P.S.  I bet it still fires perfectionately.

I agree, but 150ish isn't impossible on a hot day.

Are we supposed to unload our Glocks before we bake them?

most of my gun battles are taking place between 200 and 240 degrees Fahrenheit so I should be ok, i take a SW revolver as backup for when the temp rises above 250, i usually wear cargo shorts for those battles as pants can make me sweat fast at those temps so the revolver fits right in my left side pocket.

I remember having trouble holding my 1911 at that temp as well as the metal gets hotter.  But everyone knows that .45 does perform as well when battling in heat over 180

why are you baking a fully assembled glock in a oven at 250? if your ceracoating it you fail right there!

Because disassembly that takes literally 10 seconds and degreasing and prep work is for suckas....

250 shouldn't melt the polymer.

That was more than 250.

That isn't how it works.  An interior part like that couldn't get any hotter than the ambient temperature of the oven.  On the outside you could potentially see some effects of radiant heat, but most polymers melt in the 400° range or higher.
