Oh great now they will put maximum age restrictions on ATVs too.

YOLO.
Well done old man. I'm sure it beats rotting away in a bed hooked to machines. |

Looks like he went out the way he wanted to. On his beloved ATV. Riding in the breeze, breathing the fresh air, getting the hell away from the wife and enjoying nature.

We've had a run on 75 plus year old men laying their motorcycles down. A quick trip to the ER, several days with a chest tube and home good as...
Still, I just hope to be alive at their age, let alone riding a bike. |

I want to go out with a B O O M View Quote Some telemarketer called my wife today and asked if we would like to start working on funeral plans, and setting away money for the future. I guess this company arranges funerals and such. I asked if they had a "shot out of a canon" plan and the guy did not even chuckle. He said he was not sure if they had a canon but he could check. That floored me. I could not think of anything else and had to hang up. I guess they get some pretty fucked up requests, as my request did not even startle him. |

I'd rather go out @ 102 in an ATV accident than like my grandfather, in his sleep. On a bus. While driving.

This is why I don't get into the newer mega-quads. I'm sure there are uses for them, but an 800lb four wheeler just seems to defeat the purpose for me.
An acquaintance of mine drowned in a very similar accident a few years back, but he was an able bodied 30 something. When you flip that much weight on top of yourself, there just isn't much you can do without assistance. |

View Quote Yep, I've picked up too many patients at nursing homes to ever consider going out that way. My kids have explicit instructions for what to do if I ever get too senile to take care of myself. Drop me off at a remote lake or stream high in the mountains with some hunting/camping/fishing gear, preferably some time in the early fall. Come back in the spring and recover my body if you can. If not, no big deal. My corpse will have a smile on it, I guarantee it. |
