I think it was a Catholic philosopher who pointed out the absurdity of the feminists that tell women being good wives and mothers is demeaning, while working as a corporate drone/wage slave is "liberating." He said it better than that though.

Any movement that puts the rights of one class above another is a bad idea IMHO.

Some feminists have it right (they just support equality, nothing more). Most use it as a whip to cow men who are too scared to call their shit.

I think "modern feminism" is an important distinction, because originally, feminism fought for some needed things, equality, the right to vote (though I know some of ARF is against that

) and so forth. "Modern feminism" is a bunch of imagined slights exaggerated.

I'm not saying that there is NO need for "original feminism" any more, but it's important to separate it from the whiny, liberal variety.
