Problem with the Mustang is it has a lot of power and on the cheap side. So a lot of drivers get them that have no clue how to handle them and are still used to their econobox 4 cylinder front wheel drive car. Drop the clutch on 420+ HP and over 380ftlb torque, with RWD, and it is super easy to lose control of.

That happened here in Oklahoma back in the 1980's when the Oklahoma Highway Patrol got a batch of Camaros for patrol cars. Something like 28% of the cars were in the body shop less than a month after they were issued.

Everytime a Mustang crashes at Mustang week, an angel gets its wings.
Those crashes are from Mustang week in Myrtle Beach. About 20K Mustangs gathered last week and probably 1/2 did a burnout down that strip. Which is why people gather. Every year there is a highlight reel.
