The take-over of healthcare by the government will mean less money going into research.  In 25 years we'll be lucky to have basic healthcare available.

I work at a major cancer research hospital (I'm personally not in the oncology department).  Rumor mill is there will be a major breakthrough in treatment of most forms of cancer.  Suppose to drastically extend the lives of even late stage cancer patients.

Oh, good and even great healthcare will be available, but only to the wealthy.

A lot of times, you won;t find out about breakthroughs unless you're involved in some way.
For example:
They just finished the successful Phase 3 trial of a new drug for those with the F508del Cystic Fibrosis gene mutation.
There was significant improvement in lung function and other key measures.
Now they just need to find a pill for the single 508 delta mutation that my son has.
If my son didn't have CF, I'd have never heard about this.

We'll eventually have time travel and immortality figured out.  It's just a matter of time.  Then what?

Two chicks at the same time, who are the same chick.

Mind=blown.

If I went back in time and fucked my wife when she was 18............is that cheating?
ANd if she went back and munched on her own vagoo.......is that lesbian or just masturbation?

I think we'll see dramatic extension of the human life span. I think that we have already seen the birth of the first person to live 200 years. ( that line was stolen from an arfcommer)

Nice but how are they going to keep bones strong.

100 might be the new 60 but the bones will still be 100 years old.

Working on some products now involving emergency medicine, first responders, and leveraging tech in phenomenal ways right now.  Has implications to make telemedicine a reality to greatly reduce the cost of healthcare.  (Getting FDA certification on some now).  Also have a product being tested by Cleveland Clinic now to help change sleep studies that should help the fatties on here.

There are incremental breakthroughs all the time. Few are what I'd call significant.

Figuring out the genome was a biggie and could lead to some revolutionary things.

The sealed trocar, allowing for insuflation and laporoscopic abdominal surgery was pretty big. But, what we do to the body, now, is still pretty primitive. Cut, stitch, burn, screw.

When we figure out how to make the body heal itself better and how to grow artificial replacement parts that are good as new, that will be the "Star Trek" types of breakthroughs. It will be on the bio side of things, not the hardware or drug side.
