I have seen corrections officers even bigger than that. I went into a high security state prison and a bunch of the guards had to be 400#
We used to have a female bicycle officer who had to be 200 pounds overweight. edit the short one is a woman, did not guess that |

As a fatass-American, I declare that threads like this bring shame upon the entire gun community. There are million of lardasses that are just about to have their front doors widened so they could venture out into the world to join our ranks, but now will turn to the anits because of these racist fatist bigoted remarks. How could someone roll their scooter into a gun shop knowing that the people working there think these racist fatist bigoted thoughts?

I've seen a few local leo around here that have that same general shape.....both male and female. The state police seem to have pretty strict fitness standards.
I will have to say, the most WTF moment with the local leo has been a female deputy that has a child my sons age. I saw her once at a baseball game, in uniform with a complete duty belt and gun, but absolutely no extra magazines. The second WTF moment with her was when I was walking into my sons school for an awards ceremony and she is in full uniform but her holster was empty. There were a few other city and county cops there who were carrying, but this was like she had just forgot to put her gun in the holster that morning

Truthfully it seems that once you get on the job whatever happens afterwards... Meh.
I'm not super-fit, but I'm not overweight and can still at the age of 48 do every single aspect of my job.... I still attend and pass all my DT training. I do however work with a large number of folks... Some older many younger who in my opinion are physically incapable of doing their job. I've got people who 'Can't do stairs" for gawds sake! We have to take regular MSA airpak training/recert... There are people I work with who can't don the apparatis due to it's weight (it's not at all heavy) or just 'cause it's kinda awkward (not) to put on. I've got partners who "Can't drive a Van" (E250 paddy wagon) I've got partners who "say" they can't swing and ASP baton, but have no problem playing softball every week. |
