I wore a 3 piece suit as a groomsman for my cousin's wedding.
Damn I looked good.  But I haven't worn the vest since.  It was tailor made so it fits well.  That and I wear nice suits.  And I don't own a fedora.

And the trick is to make sure the vest is long enough -- if you wear a Long suit, you should also have a Long vest, and probably Long rise pants.  If everything actually fits, a three piece suit gives great concealment for an appendix carry.
